View Full Version : Is there a way to see more of the map in large map games?

My monitor only supports up to 1366x768 resolution, which is fine for most regular size maps but makes tower/big rope races a bit frustrating.

Is there a way to "zoom out" on the map during play?

Thanks :)

Not possible yet.

Having a similar problem, sometimes I can't manage to make out where I have to go exactly, or what distance I have to travel. Zooming would indeed be a nice feature.

Already suggested in WKB's feedback (http://feedback.worms2d.info/forums/5998-worms-armageddon/suggestions/81445-zooming-during-gameplay?ref=title)

Yes. For now, the ideal solution is to use a large monitor (1920×1200 or higher) and on big maps with lots of movement (like big rope races), enable "home lock" which will center your worm on your screen so you can see more around yourself while you move. You can enable "home lock" by pressing ctrl+home. To disable it, press just home. Ctrl+home only enables it; doesn't toggle it, unfortunately.

YES! Great! Finally! Why has no one ever told me about that option? A way to make the camera not only move once the worm reaches the border of the screen which has been real annoying for rope races :D

No, seriously. There seems to be a damn large amount of keys and commands I'm missing for that game. It should even be possible to somehow change the colour of the water and to toggle the level of invisibility of health and name bars. Is there a list for all of these somewhere, maybe?

...
So... where's that home key?

*EDIT* Nevermind, the home key is called "Pos1" in German. Yea I know, wtf.

Yes there is.

Yes there is.

Well that's totally helpful isn't it.

:p

See here (http://worms2d.info/In-game_controls) and here (http://worms2d.info/List_of_chat_commands).

The changing water colour is an Easter egg, appropriately enough.

Thanks ;)
But these are a whole lot of comments, I wonder how I'm supposed to remember them all :p

Huh?

It's always been a little confusing to find different water colours in the WA folders but to not be able to change them in-game, as in Worms 2. I don't really understand why, but how come that's turned into an Easter egg and why do you call that appropriate?

Not all copies of W:A have all the different water colour files thus the game was limited to using just the blue colour. The easter egg works around that by changing the luminous values of the water colour dynamically while the game is running. You can use the /h2o command to lock it to whatever colour it is currently at too!

I'd hardly call typing a specific command in an online-only chat window an Easter egg, you know

You can access the chat window in offline games too... and it's an undocumented feature and such things in most games are treated as easter eggs or secrets.

It was a long-requested feature in order to add commentary to offline demonstrations, such as trick demonstrations or mission tutorials. It'll be more useful when (if :() a tool-assist build is released publicly.

Or support for a dedicated commentator with a second keyboard.
