AFAIK, their only response to inquiries about the beta updates was something along "when it's an official patch" (even though the beta update was already hosted on T17's official WA website).

Gameplay and feature wise it's more based on the original Worms game from 1995 with updated graphics, featuring the same lower player and team counts, smaller weapons set and basic customisability.

Okay, so which one of these games would you recommend: Worms HD, Or Worms 2 Armageddon for iPad? I see that worms 2 has lower ratings on the app store. Which do your recommend? Or should I get both?

I can only say that you should get Worms Armageddon for PC, no matter what else you'll buy. Nowadays, it's very cheap anyway.

As for Worms on the iPhone, W2A is definitely the better game, with more weapons and more stuff to do, but it's still a very reduced game in comparison to the old WA on PC and it's played on a mobile phone.

It's possible to play this game without a cd, see here (http://worms2d.info/Running_WA_without_the_CD). As mentioned before, you'll need the help of a friend to do that.

Worms 2: Armageddon on the iPad is worth a try, however you should be aware it somewhat feels like a "minigame" compared to the PC games (It's just that with most iPod/Phone/Pad games).

mario this sounds a little more complicated than it actually is. since your computer does not have a disc drive you are going to need to use an image mounting program to create fake disc drives for you to put your fake discs(ISOs) into.

I don't currently own an optical media drive myself, but I still use an ISO file of the game which I created myself from the original MicroProse US WA CD many years ago.

Once you have the license, it doesn't matter where you get the data/content from.

team 17 should email the iso as an alternative to distributing physical copies. if they include the most recent beta update with that email it makes it all an instant, easy, one time transaction and install to get up and running and online. they could instruct users to burn a copy or mount the image and include basic information for both.

users would have digital assurance that their copy can be easily and legally re-obtained from t17. this would help deter piracy. it would increase the number of current beta update users out there. t17 could make enough profit to make it worth selling the game again. no more of these threads.

I just checked the prices on Trygames again:
Worms 2 costs €11.99 and World Party €22.99.
They've already discontinued Worms Armageddon, but IIRC, it was somewhere in between, at around €15.

Mind you, 1€ = 1.3$, so that's clearly a rip-off to me, because you can get those games for under €10 including worldwide shipping nowadays.

As for Worms 4 Mayhem, I don't think that it's available as a download.

Where I am, It says that it's $6.99 in american dollars. AMERICA GETS IT CHEAPER... I think.

For your strange symbols you described, you probably have a DRM-protected version of W4M. Trygames' release is one of the example. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It doesn't really hurt me. I've been on forums before, I'm even a veteran on one. And I'm quite popular, almost everyone there knows me. But back on topic, Is there ANY way to fix it? And the reason I don't want this moved is because I already posted a topic in the Worms 4 Forum WEEKS ago, and no one has posted in that forum since then. So... Yeah.

Most Trygames software encrypts its data files, for no adequate reason. So basically, no. That's why most of us around here hate Trygames ;)

mario, Worms Armageddon is by far the most popular in the series. it has the best physics. online play is still VERY active after 10 years. Cybershadow and Deadcode put out new official updates for it roughly twice a year and they implemented a modular system that allows members of the community to add patches that change the game logic.

this game and eeprom programming are the only reasons i still run a windows computer.

the fact that you cant get help with worms 4 mayhem from its board or this board should be an indicator of its community, support and popularity.

just bite the bullet, track down a disc, make or download an iso and mount it. its not like you have to carry the disc around
