I don't understand this thing at all. I got a sub system error. Googled it, found a "module" to force the resolution on the front end. I read further, noticed I needed this "Wormkit". Downloaded Wormkit, read the instructions on how to install and activate each module which is basically copy contents of program + said modules into the installed directory among other things. Ran JUST Wormkit, still got the exact same error as if nothing changed. What does this thing do exactly? Because nothing is happening. Keep getting the sub system error for the front end resolution no matter what I try. Been at this for a good 3 hours and, to be honest, I'm losing the taste of even bothering with this game. I feel like downloading Wormkit was the same as downloading the same .exe file already located in my directory. Don't see any difference. What am I doing wrong (If anything)? Does Wormkit have a GUI that I'm not noticing or does it just run alternative code on startup? Why is running this game harder than getting US Citizenship papers for Osama Bin Laden? I need help apparently.

Why is running this game harder than getting US Citizenship papers for Osama Bin Laden?Because manufacturers of new hardware don't care about compatibility with decade-old games.

Sorry, but if the WormKit module didn't help you, the only solutions I know of are using a virtual machine (http://worms2d.info/Emulating_Worms_Armageddon) or waiting for W:A 4.0.

Yep - I'm having this error too. Running the latest beta version; I am still getting the error when going from game to frontend even with having fiddled with the settings and applying the ForceFrontendResolution module. My specifications are:

GL_MAX_LIGHTS 16
GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE 2048
GL_MAX_TEXTURE_STACK_DEPTH 10

*Motherboard can handle up to 2048 MB RAM
**According to the intel website, my driver is the most recent one (although it's still a five-year-old piece of software, so it *should* still be compatible with the W:A Frontend...)

I am able to go as low as 800x600 16-BPP on my screen settings, but trying this still doesn't fix the problem.

check your Advanced settings. Make sure that the Wine tweaks in the top left corner (like Use desktop window) are off.
