I'm a 22 yo French medical student, and above all, a fan of 2D Worms since I was in middle school !

I thought that melting my medical culture and my love for Worms was interesting so ...

Haha yes it's the favorite stuff of the anesth' but no magical power with that ^^ It's called a laryngoscope and it's necessary to intubate the trachea of patients who are going to be "put on sleep" during the operation. Otherwise they won't be able to breath .. annoying :p

Okay. Being copies of official art, I can't tell much about the first two pictures. The style of the policeman is rather good though, only the shading is a little in need of improvement ;)

The tails are quite fat, almost bulky... that's a personal opinion of mine though, you can ignore it if you wish :p

Thurbo : Yes you're right the 2 first are inspired from 2 official pics. I "medically" modified them but each time I drew them by hand, and computed-colorized them.
I used the same technic for the 2 first, very long one (1 afternoon) wich allowed me to have "heterogeneous tails". For the policeman, I spent just few hours (30 min drawing, 2 hours colorizing) and I retailed only the main original tails, but the rendering is a bit too "linear".
I'll perfect it. Promised ^^

No, what bothers me are the non-sterile looking, brown surgical gloves.
I have a suspicion that this isn't a surgeon at all, but rather a gardener. :eek:

Brown surgical gloves exist (maybe not in the medical movies you watched, but in real life they do), and the color is not synonym of sterility... The aspect of dirty gloves is voluntary, due to clotted blood. I don't fantasize, I see it in everyday life...
And in my opinion, gardening gloves are mostly green, and not brown ... But I can't confirm that :D
Honestly, I'd rather have a comment about the global quality of the drawing, and not a problem of color ^^

The fact that worms hands aren't attached to their bodies makes receiving the drip very amusing. Ticking bomb jokes have been used often but it fits with the humour of the worms movies. Perhaps the drip could be a health crate or maybe those are taken some other way.

One eye is larger than the other, maybe a perspective thing but it looks odd. Apart from that, the drawing is great.

I wonder if the patient has a donor card (http://worms2d.info/Donor_Card).

The quality of your work is of course excellent again!
Very nice to see an artist that actually uses pencil and paper, instead of the countless people that use computer tools like Illustrator or Flash.
To me, the latter tend to always produce very similar results, while hand-drawing results in a distinct style.

For last drawing... I think that eye with risen eyebrow should be more opened then other one... I mean try yourself on your face, it's kinda natural I think :P

I wanna see worm chemist in lab or with some chemical weapon! :D

Now I'm quite curious: What painting program do you use? :D

As for the last image, the black and white glasses look rather odd. I think you should have abandoned gradual tools and coloured them by hand, or, instead of using that gradual tool only one time for both lenses, you could have used it seperately ;)

Thurbo, I'm using Photoshop CS3, great tool for that kind of work :D
For the effect on the glasses, I used the "halo" effect, I imagined a light coming from the upper right corner so I tried to be coherent on the glasses + on the shadows ...
And for the openning of the eyes, Rodent, you're right, I'll change it.

I liked the idea of Rodent about a worm preparing chemical stuff so ...

Only thing I found little odd is that white soil spilled on table... I think that outline is maybe too fat...

The only thing catching my eyes again are the random shadows - the light seems to come from all directions :p

But don't worry, it's more a matter of thinking straight. As for an example, look at the can the worm holds in its left hand. Down this post I gave an example of how it should look like - it's hard to explain, maybe you can make out the mistake yourself...?

His right hand seems very awkward. It would be uncomfortable to pour a flask like that. You should try holding your hand like that, it's not pleasant. Not meaning to sound rude, if I do, I apologize.

Roboslob You're the exception (:p) because that hand doesn't "shock" any of my relatives and even if it had been the case, it would take too much time to change the whole hand + flask.

Thurbo : Shadows aren't my "cup of tea" as they say in England :D I make them "rapidly", I don't have a good technic to be very consistent.

Rodent : Yes if you want, I don't know what is "wxw map" but if you want to use it as a map, Okay, but I suppose I'll have to change some details (like the white light ?). Tell me exactly what you need

Hmmmmm for map probably only thing that should be changed is black color but that is very simple to do... Probably some resize too but that all are things that are very simple to do and won't be any problem.

Anyway, image won't be a map... it will be part of the map :)
When my exam pass I will start working on it and ofc show you before uploading anywhere else. :)


EDIT: Heh... I just tried to convert your image into png8 format with 64 color palette and unfortunately it looks very messy with all kinds of dithering... so it won't be good choice for inserting into maps without additional changes :\

I can modify the green vapor to make it less "progressive" and adapted to png8 if you think it's useful.

Yeah I didn't want to open the eternal conflict between COD players and Battlefield players because I appreciate the 2 =)
And concerning the outfit (helmet + Keffiyeh), I had more inspiration from battlefield (BattleField Pic (http://www.playzine.fr/images/jeux/battlefield_3/news/batt3.jpg)),
then I used COD for the (easy) pun "Wormfare"...
