View Full Version : Which videocard do you have and is it working?
At our work we always used to play WWP during our breaks.
But, after a while it stopped working properly because our computers got too new. So, we were very excited when Worms Reloaded was released.
However, WR is not running properly. Since the system requirements are not that specific, it thought it would be useful to have a post with videocards on which the game is or isn't working properly.
I realise we don't have the latest & greatest videocards in our work-pc's, but I had really expected WR to run 'just fine' (not great, but fine).
I have tested it on the following machines:
Config 1:
Windows 7 x86
ATI Radeon X1550, 256 MB
Not running properly (too slow)
Config 2:
Windows 7 x64
ATI Radeon X600, 128 MB
Not running properly (too slow)
Config 3:
Windows 7 x64
ATI Radeon X2100, 256 MB
Running properly (not great of course, but good enough)
All machines are modern dualcore machines (intel, amd) with cpu speeds of 2 GHz or higher and sufficient memory (2.5 - 4 Gig).
Perhaps team17 can be a bit more specific about what is and isn't supported, perhaps a list somewhere because 'GeForce4 like card with 128 MB' is a bit generic imho.
Perhaps something can be done to improve performance on older cards?
Because even the menu's are already very slow.
Thanks.
Unfortunately all the graphics card you have mentioned are just simply too low quality to run WA.
And yes T17s mentioning of the Gforce4+ is actually a very gray area. Basically it means the game will run on equipment as old as this, it doesn't mean in any way that it will be efficient or effective. All games say pretty much the same thing and theres a good few reasons for it.
There is a "possible" chance for a performance increase if you do some software maintenance though.
One being updating your graphics drivers because driver updates can do wonders in many situations.
The second is to make sure nothing in the background is using up your CPU and RAM so the machine runs as efficiently as possible for WR. Also, turning off windows 7 desktop effects (aero) will help increase WR performance.
Other than that, the only possible way you can truely solve this problem is to upgrade your graphics cards. Though I wouldn't consider this much of an issue because low-end modern GFX cards today can easily run WR on high settings.
Goodluck!
Windows XP 32-bit
Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200, 128MB
Runs well (as long as I don't have too many programs running which start to eat up my 1GB RAM).
I guess you're at a disadvantage if you're using Windows 7 with low quality gfx cards.

Win7, built in Intel Crapcore something. It plays barely well in 1280 x 800, have to set it to like 640x400 or something for it to run smoothly.

Phenom II 945 4x3.0GHz
2GB RAM
WinXP SP3
AMD Radeon HD4200 IGP
Runs fine with maximum settings on 1024x768. Very rarely goes under 35FPS, stays pretty solid at 40FPS. If you disable background blur, your FPS doubles, allowing higher resolutions.

Processor: Intel Core 2 CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 3070MB RAM
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9800
Runs perfectly at 1600x900 even with FRAPS working (which typically kills framerate).

I know it's OT but why does my threads doesn't get posted?
I posted yesterday and today, and nothing!

I have ATI Readon HD 4850 and it doesn't work.(I mean sound)
Is there anyone with a GeForce 8400GS 256MB or similar?
Would Worms Reloaded run on it on 1024x768?
This is the cheapest current VGA card and since it's for work-pc... :)
Draconis when you say "(2 cpus)", do you mean you have to cpus in your tower or are you just refering to it being a duo core?
Also, I have the same cpu as you, however I dont see why you dont overlclock it, its so easy with the 8400... anyway, my setup runs it fine:
Intel Duo E8400 @ 4.0hz
4gb RAM
Radeon 4870HD Toxic

I just took my processor specification from my X-Fire profile: http://www.xfire.com/profile/quickening666/
I'm too nervous to overclock. My PC is on 24/7 since I use it for absolutely everything and it suffers from heat problems as it is (not to mention chain smoking beside it probably doesn't help). Think if I overclocked it the machine would explode and take out my entire town.
^^ Ah, man dont get me started but you should buy a Antec 300 (cheap as chips), then buy 2 front fans for it (Ģ4 for 2) and your heat issues are sorted :)

Pc 1:
Geforce 8800GT @ Win7. works peachy
PC2:
ati x800 XL or 1300, same performance anyway. Runs pretty decent
Mac:
geforce 9400M @ WIN7 via Parralels, runs pretty decent.
Running WIN7 on the same machine via bootcamp: Runs perfectly.

You may need to disable Blur, but it should run fine on this videocard.
I Have ATI Radeon Xpress 200, works terrible i have to ''low'' every video setting

Runs super smoothly for me, on my 3 systems:
System 1 (new)
- Intel Core i7 930 2.8GHz
- Geforce GTX 260
- 6GB of RAM DDR3 1600MHz
- Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
System 2 (5 years old)
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.2GHz
- 3GB of RAM DDR1 400MHz
- Geforce GTX 260 (and it's previous GPU: Geforce 6600GT 128MB)
- Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
System 3 (1 year and half ago - laptop)
- Dell Latitude E6400
- Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.2GHz
- 4GB of RAM DDR2 800MHz
- Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M 256MB (equivalent: Geforce 9400M but with 256MB of memory instead of shared)
- Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
All under max settings at 1920x1200.

System 1 (Running fine at 1440x900)
- DELL Precission M4400
- Intel Core 2 Duo T9400
- 8GB of RAM DDR2
- NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M
- Windows 7 Home Premium x64
System 2 (Running fine at 1920x1200)
- Intel Core 2 Quad 9550
- 8GB of RAM DDR2
- NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500
- Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Runs fine at 1024x768 with:
nVidia GeForce 6100
1GB of RAM shared with the graphics card
Windows 7 x86
AMD Athlon x64 @ 2.2 GHz
Nvidia 9500M
3GB System Ram
Win 7 x64
Intel Core2 - 2GHz
With a system like that I'd expect minimal problems but blur really ruins the framerate and it's still not fantastic even with blur disabled. It's playable but there are noticeable drops.

Athlon x2 5000
4GB DDR2800
8800GTS
Running on win7 64 and it runs like a dog even on the lowest settings. It's playable but the framerate is always dropping and it likes to cain my hard drive alot(the on screen lag is at the times its ramping my drive).
Athlon XP 3200
2 GB RAM DDR 400
Ati Radeon 3650, 512 MB, AGP (newest catalyst AGP-Fix-driver)
Win XP Prof SP2
Played only the Demo, lags (framerate) like hell, unplayable. No reason if it is 800x600 or native 1280x1024
I tried it now on another System
Athlon XP 2400
2 GB RAM DDR 400
Geforce 6800, 256 MB, AGP (Asus V9999, newest Driver)
Win XP Pro SP2
And there it runs smooth, not perfect but smooth
No love for Ati Team 17?
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
GeForce GTX 460, 1GB
Runs with first-rate performance
Intel Celeron M575 @ 2.00GHz
4GB DDR2 RAM
Intel GMA X3100 - latest drivers (in dxdiag - 7.15.0010.1666, DirectX 11)
1280 x 800
Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
Detail settings set to high
Runs smooth, without lag. Crash-on-explosion problem fixed, with this - Click (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=3b170b25-abab-4bc3-ae91-50ceb6d8fa8d)

I use an ATI Radeon HD4890 OC version with 2gb of ddr2 and a AMD phenom x3 at 3,2 ghz.
Runs fine but I get this small stuttering like every 5 seconds where it seems to skip one or two frames, and itīs really annoying. Anyone also experiencing this, or any ideas how to get rid of it?
Do you have the latest Catalyst drivers?

I sure do =). I experience the same kind of stuttering in Worms reloaded as in Battlefield Bad Company 2, but the other games I play runs fine.
