It's not just ranked, also in player matches I have rarely found people who know how to play. :p
It seems a lot of people jump directly to online without bothering with training or campaign.

And most annoying is, some players will just leave as soon as they make a mistake, or as soon as they can see they are about to lose.

But if we give it some time, things will be better.

I've found the exact same thing. I got to the high nineties in the rankings and turned to pro instead but it seems hardly anyone plays there (probably can't bear to play with so few jetpacks). If you check out the Steam thread you can probably get a good challenge from facing one of us one on one.

I think I was a little luckier than you, because in ranked matches I've already found a few good players.

I really had this feeling you have now when I played OW2 because there were bunches of idiots, 80% of them quit right after their first mistake, or shortly before they lost.

I'm pleased to find so few quitters in WR, but maybe I was really lucky.

I've played some great players and many new players. I don't expect everyone to have played worms for as long as I have and even the long time Armageddon players will take a while to get used to WR unless they have played the 360 version. This one guy out numbered me because of unlucky spawn locations, so I trapped his worms with girders and he started insulting me. I didn't mind, I won the game in the end :P

My first turn in this game involved accidentally setting my own team back 125hp without touching the opponents at all... with a bazooka.

I'm not too surprised that the majority of players that got the game over Steam aren't too good.oh I expected THAT part. the first 10 or so games I expected to be pretty terrible while I flew up the ranks, but I'm in the top 150 now, and I have played one decent game. The best 150 players in all of the people who've bought this game and my opponents are still killing themselves as often as they kill me.

Ive been floating around the 20's 30's since release (robciviccrx) and most players have been OK, some have been terrible and probably 5 or so actually good. I'm pretty certain the only game's I have lost are a couple of pro's vs flamie. It's funny when you get called a noob and a hacker and beat your opponent down, so satisfying.

In one game I was thrashing this guy and I had just delivered another blow by dropping a grenade on one of his worms from a jetpack. He says to me in the chat, "you're making the game boring" implying that it was a cheapshot to do that (even though previously I had been nailing him with crackshots). Next turn he drops dynamite on me from a jetpack. So when he said I was making the game boring what he really meant was, "waaaaaaa I don't like looooosing!!1111".

I won natch.

It's always satisfying to beat someone rude so it's a shame that everyone else I've played so far has been a good sport otherwise I'd be getting orgasms from this game I win so much.

I darksided throughout the whole game once (I had terrible starting positions and two of my worms were killed right at the beginning). When I won, he said "You play like a pus*y :mad:". I find that insults about this very childish and unfair as he simply lost due to a lack of skills.

Yes. I definately prefer fighting "honourably" but at the end of the day lets face it, we're going to use every tool we have at our disposal to win. I don't play to lose.

I invaded teh opposite side and uzi'd him into the pile he'd been creating. I lol'd.

There are wormapedia pages in World Party and 3D about brightside. I kind of can't believe you it doesn't exist therefore.

brightsiders: Don't have any side at all, just play as they want
greysiders: Play either darkside or lightside throughout a match

Agreed, I havent lost a game yet on a ranked match and I wouldnt consider myself to be pro.

Like, I had 1 worm left after some god awful placement. The opponent had 3.

After I got myself into a hard to reach position it wasnt long before I had killed all 3 of them only taking about 25hp off myself.

Try changing your Steam download location to a different region, further away from you.

Well I think we don't need those then if it's all in a muddle anyway.well the brightsider nonsense was started by players, rather than team17, and as such the definition is stupid and vague. yet another reason it should be disregarded. 3 sides. dark, light and grey in between. ignore all the rest.
