Hello there.
Some of you may have heard of me, some may have not. I haven't exactly been what you call 'active in the forums' recently.
But may I just say that I am a fierce original W:A Junkie. I'm actually on ProSnooper right now, looking at the chat, and I decided to make this while waiting for someone to host a Rope Race.
So I'm sending a Shout-Out to all those who still play the Original PC Worms: Armageddon to this day. Crazy Ropers, Shopper Addicts, Map Makers, who's going to give The Next Evolution a try here?
If you had enjoyed or still enjoy the Original Worms: Armageddon and all it's Maps and Rope Races, please, post in this topic. We can chat about wether you're going to play Worms: Reloaded or not, and why, what you'd do if you got it and you didn't like it (because I know I'd go straight back on W:A) I can't be the only Roper getting the game, right?
Post away.
I'm getting Worms Reloaded cuz I was planning to get W2:A, but since this is a buffed version of that (and is for PC), meh
And because... yeah... it's Worms on Steam.
I was an avid WA / WWP player from 1999-2003.
I've pre ordered and looking forward to playing :-)

I love Worms Armageddon, especially with the great custom maps of any sort :)
Tomorrow it's time for something new, of course I'm getting Worms Reloaded :)

Eventually... this is going to be the new W:A.

I got reloaded, but I'm really disappointed with it. It's like the PSP version of Open Warfare 2, which was rubbish compared to the DS version by Two Tribes.
So many bugs and broken promises.
Its a pity W:A won't run on my Windows 7 pc. The patches won't install.

Ah, really? Such a shame...
Well I have Windows 7 and WA works almost without problems, I only have to minimize WA once every game because the colours get screwed up. You just have to install patch 3.0 and 3.6.29.0 after it and voila! You have to use either WormKit or CyberShadow's script after that for the colours to work to an extent, though.

I think it doesn't work on my pc because I'm on Windows 7 64 Bit. And the patches are most likely designed for 32bit operating systems.

It does work. I have Windows 7 64 bit and it runs almost flawlessly.

Team 17 wanted to make this the next W:A. In my honest opinion:
- No Chat Room in Multiplayer, annoying
- Sound's not coming out for me at all, I checked and it's not my Audio Card or Speakers, it's just literally not coming out.
- Control's been tampered with, very annoying.
- Ninja Rope hasn't got its' speed, reflex, or bounce.
- Lack of Weapons.
- Un-able to transfer any of my W:A Files to W:R, very annoying.
Ultimately, in my opinion, W:R fails. Completely.
See you on W:A. CyberShadow, Deadcode, keep up the good work.

-There is chat. Pause the game then click Chat.
-It works perfectly for me. Check the settings and/or update your DirectX or sound drivers.
-...not really. The controls are the same as W:A's in my opinion. Only problem is that you press Z to rotate horizontally the airstrike crosshair-thing and to rotate the Girders you press Mouse 3 (the wheel. PRESS it.).
-Yeah, it doesn't feel the same. But the bounce was a bit nerfed.
-Not true. Half of W:A's weapons weren't used in online gameplay.
-You'd expect to be ABLE TO DO THAT? T17 didn't even SAY you could. I mean, you couldn't from W2 to W:A or W:A to WWP. But you CAN import maps, as long as they're TGA or PNG I think.
In my opinion, Reloaded is just a buffed version of W2:A and it's kinda fun as a "different game from W:A".
But I'll still be playing W:A :)

No, they didn't.
- No Chat Room in Multiplayer, annoying
How about pressing the correct button that has been assigned for opening the in-game chat panel?

Manually updating DirectX fixes that.
- Control's been tampered with, very annoying.
You can customize your controls you know?
- Ninja Rope hasn't got its' speed, reflex, or bounce.
This was to be expected and has already been confirmed pre-release by beta testers.
New engine, new physics. Adapt or perish!
- Lack of Weapons.
Oh, come on! You knew that BEFORE.
This game is the PC equivalent to W2:A with the DLC weapons.
- Un-able to transfer any of my W:A Files to W:R, very annoying.
OFFS! You're right!
My Worms 1 files don't work either.
Ultimately, in my opinion, W:R fails. Completely.
Wrong.
This is a complete failure:

Have been played WA for around two years and WR for now almost 2 hours.
What I feared, the menus are mostly all identical, which not only can make you huge disoriented, it also make several things unlogical. The game itself - I gotta need more time to tell what I like and not do.
Good: The Armageddon seem to be more powerful than in WA.
Bad: All ninja ropes has printed "Walmart" on them. What I mean, you able to swing from A-B like you see in the first trailer, the rest = hard/fail.
One thing for sure, WR is a very different kind of animal.

Bonz made all my points for me, bu I just want to make one comment about the rope. Actually I thought I would never be able to get good at that thing (new physics and all), but after a couple weeks of beta testing this sucker, I can do some pretty mean flips and I am no where NEAR better than some of the other testers I played with. Trust me, if you stick with this, you'll start feeling the W:A rope feels weird.
Hi Shirdel. This is the slowest day at work ever. I set up my WR team from here but that's about all I can do for now. I still play WA occasionally.
