View Full Version : Worms: Reloaded Preorder -> Team Fortress 2 exclusive items?
Indeed!
This could be a good method to increase sales, since Team Fortress 2 is a well known game + TF2 exclusive items (especially hats) are really really coveted!
Just look at the "Sam & Max campaign" which gave you two TF2 weapon skins + a really funny looking hat (http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=3698&p=1)! I know at least two friends in my STEAM list who gave this series a try since they were aware of the fact, that buying this game would have more then one positive side effect.
I would love to see such a move for Worms: Reloaded as well (maybe a Wormish looking hat usable by any class? *g*)!
Could that be reality, T17?
Yeah... that's not gonna happen.
Like said update ...er, said, it's because the TF2 crew had a strong relation with the Samd & Max guys. They wouldn't do it for just any game series.

Soldier should get a Bazooka replacement for his Rocket Launcher.
But yeah, that's not going to happen. :(
In W4M, though, have been several hats from other video games/movies/whatever (like Splinter Cell and Rocketeer
Almost all helmets in W2A/WR are from OW2 and that game was a reference to the most known wars in human history, thus it's got GI helmets, German helmets, Tommy's Troopers helmets, Russian Furs etc. etc.
T17 also added some helmets that fit to the themes in W2A, too (like football helmets and police caps)

i dont agree that. i would hate that no matter what they give "to sell more copies".
worms is a better game than TF2, worms (on ps1) is the first worms game i had, and i had worms2, armageddon, world party and i will buy the worms reloaded no matter and how much it is. i dont think that some people will buy the worms just because it has some extra stuff for tf2, and lots of people hate 3d worms (like me).
worms already has (or "had" at the time) more loyal players than tf2 it would be foolish to try to "lure" people into it....
Well but adding extra stuff wouldn't be a bad option, nevertheless. Though I agree I've been playing some awesome series like Rayman, Crash Bandicoot, Earthworm Jim, Super Mario, Star/Warcraft or whatever, but always thought Worms was and will ever be the greatest, for all those options and strategical and party-ish contents it includes at the same time, for the Worms as the tremendous characters which show you the human's worst part... lol :p
Yes, I just like it. Also because actually, if you buy one single Worms you wouldn't need anything else for a long time because in fact you can play this game for ages. As most of the people that start playing it do.
How about creating unique skins for those that pre-ordered (unique gravestones, hats, and perhaps even unique bazooka skin.... Like a portable nuclear launcher......). That would give an incentive to pre-order if the items were correct, desirable and fun :)
I think that'd be slightly too unfair for those that didn't wanna pre-order (waiting for tests) or weren't informed the game was out before.

It'll always be unfair to someone. My suggestion is nothing game-changing, just more customization options so they got the option of an unique style. And T17 can make even more afterwards for the general public (or perhaps make them exclusive for pre-orders for a month or longer, and then for a small price you can buy them too).
It'd be equally unfair to create items for TF2 for those who pre-ordered W:R, but it would be just in a different game ;)

Thats right. I hope in July we will be able to preodrer the game with exclusive items.
Remains only one question - what tactics will choose the Team 17? Valve or EA/Activision/Ubisoft? Buy once and get DLC for free (TF2, L4D) or pay for them (BF:Heroes, Mass Effect, Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed 2).
I'll better pay more for the game and get regular updates.
