Is there a way to change the name of your team ?
Can someone tell if there's a way to do that ?

i can't click on my name only change name of my worms and change wapon and clothing :( !

1st of all.... i didn't check if i was right xD
2nd... did you make any mission/deathmatch/something important with that team? if you didnt, just erase it and create another one
3rd... im going to check if there's a way.... dont worry ;)

It's my only team where I did all missions with but because it's so long ago that i played worms 4: Mayhem I want to change the name that's all :)
and thank you allready for helping me, it's not that much people play this game so i'm happy if I can ask someone !

Or, hard work, open savegame.xom with notepad, search the line with the team name and change from there.

I changed it and saved it and everything in the files, but it hasn't changed in-game.

That won't work if the new name doesn't have exactly the same number of characters than the old one. If you really want to change it without losing your team, host the savegame somewhere, I'll see if I can do anything. I don't remember exactly how XOM files work, it's been a while since I gave up on my old XOM editor, but if I remember correctly, it can change strings in savegames without any problem.

You didn't even need such a program since the game let you change your team names in-game. As far as I know, Worms 3D and Worms 4 Mayhem have been the lone games with the unability of changing team names so far :-/

That's not odd, it makes perfect sense, and it's like that in most binary files. In XOM files, every string (aka textual data) is stored one after each other, and then there is a list of addresses which contains the exact position of every string in the file. Add or remove a character from any string, and everything is shifted, and you have a guaranteed crash.

Alright, actually, missions are not THAT hard. You could just create a new team/save file. I dunno if you have done deathmatches yet because those are indeed hard (more due to the time limits, btw).

In addition you could request someone of us to create a new save file with your team name and play through it (I'd have some fun :D but it's better if you did it yourself, of course).

If you insert one character without doing anything else, that's what happens. And it's not good at all. :(

I think I begin to understand now. The game saves a file for the team which has exactly the same lenght as the names have, and changes the file if you change the worms' names in-game. Unfortunately, an in-game Team name changer does not exist. Manually it's harder to change the file. Am I right so far? :p

Actually, all teams are in the same file, but other than that, you are right. If you want to change a name, you will also need to change other values somewhere else in the file, or your file will be corrupted. And it's almost impossible to find those values manually, unless you're really motivated.

I could get back to my savegame editor I started a long time ago, depends how many people would use it.
