I hear the Android is easier to develop for.

Any news guys?

Not good to leave us hanging.

160,000 android devices are being activated per day. A lot of those are Motorola Droid and above specification devices. I have a nexus, my friends have HTC Desires. These can easily handle the game.

Give us worms!

Developing iPhone games is easier, because the developers only needs to test it on four (or maybe just one, really- it's all the same anyway) different iPhones while on Android larger compatibility tests need to be made in order to ensure that the game will work on all Android phones (and before you ask, i'm not implying that a developer would literally test every phone possible.).

But hey, they've made PC games before so i guess it's not that much of a deal. Should an Android Worms game be made, expect an Android Tech Support section being made on this forum.

Please get TwoTribes to create an Android version if it's possible. Play the DS and PSP version and you'll realise the DS version is superior in every way apart from the graphics.

Sounds like you develop games yourself. But if I may come with one single comment: it depends on the developers themselves if they find it easier to program games for iPhone or Android. Personally I would prefer Android since it is based on Java. But as a matter of fact, the iPhone both came out earlier and got more popular than the Android platform, hence the game being programmet for iPhone. - or so I believe.

Well Worms is out on Android but I am not alowed to download it in my country (Norway)
In one of the Worms I find (3) it allso sais it is not compatible with my Asus Transformer, but i know for a fact that people have it working on theyr Transformers (Ref. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032381))

Why am I not allowed to get Worms in my country, when can we recon this will be fixed?

I want to give you money, you want money. A deal has to take place.

I don't know why it's not available is some countries. EA Mobile developed the game for Android, so you will have to take it up with them and we will also be asking questions too.

Right, done some digging and got a response from EA for you.

The Android Market does not support paid apps in Norway for now. Here is a list of which countries allow paid for android apps at the momment.

http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/developer/bin/answer.py?answer=138294

Given Worms is a paid app you will not be able to purchase from Norway. :(

Google is the problem here unfortunately and there is not much anyone can do about that right now.

You might be able to get the game directly from the EA website but they are not 100% sure they have this feature for NORWAY

Hope that sheds some light on the situation.

Thank You for taking action on this, that is very much apriciated.

I actualy did ask EA Mobile
When I found a way to contact them (Not easy, I was forced to select a cellular phone from a dropdown menu when choosing unit if I was not mistaken as tablets was not an option) after a week with no feedback I turned to this forum.

Then, back to the case at hand.
I checked out Your first link (http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/developer/bin/answer.py?answer=138294) there and I find Norway to be on the same list of countrys where paied applicatons may be sold alongside United Kingdom, United States, Netherlands and others. (See spoiler)

Currently, developers in these locations (http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/developer/bin/answer.py?answer=150324) may sell paid applications to users in the following countries:

Argentina
Australia
Austria
Belgium
Brazil
Bulgaria
Cameroon
Canada
Cote d' Ivore
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Ghana
Greece
Hong Kong
Hungary
Iceland
India
Israel
Italy
Ireland
Japan
Kenya
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Mexico
Netherlands
New Zealand
Nicaragua
Norway
Philippines
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Russia
Senegal
Singapore
Slovakia
Slovenia
South Africa
South Korea
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Taiwan
Thailand
Ukraine
United Kingdom
United States

I have allso bought applications from the Android Market to my tablet already and that worked perfectly so purchasing applications does work.
So the answer from EA did not make much sense.
Maby EA ought to check out that they can actualy sell applications in Norway and take part in the ( shopping frenzy ;) ) Norwegian market.

If I some how where to get my hands on the apk file I beleve that I would stil have problems anyway for some reason.

When runing the Worms Application (icon on homescreen) the following screen appears (after installing the apk file)

DOWNLOAD AND PLAY

Worms requires approximately 40 MB additional content to run. Select "Download" to begin. Download times may vary based on network and location. WiFi connection is recommended.
[DOWNLOAD]

After pressing the [Download] button a "Download in progress..." bar shows changing the screen from landscape to portrait mode, up with 0% in the lower left corner and 0/100 in the lower right corner and after 0,5 seconds goes back to landscape mode with NaN in the lower left corner and 0 MB of 0 MB in the lower

the following screen apears:

Unsupported Device

"An error has occurred while downloading your game. Please visit www.eamobile.com/countrygate to choose your country and click the customer support link.
[EXIT]

And then it's straight back to the homescreen.
The whole time the Worms and Team17 logo is in the background

I got an e-mail just now that EA had answered my support case over at eamobile.com.
But it seems that I did not manage to get my message across ( I should have used the last line that I used in my original post here at the forum, impossible to misunderstand) as they seem to beleve that I have been billed by Google and are therfore asking me to provide them with my Google Order Number.
When the problem is that I am not allowed to purchase the game at all. (and install it of course, we would like to be able to install it so that we can enjoy the game aswell and not only pay for it.)
Does not show up in the Market when accessing it through the unit itselfe and get told that I can not installe it in the unit in my country when trying to buy it from Android Market through web browser on a regular computer.

Hello
For some reason this site does not accept that I choose tablets.
I have a Asus Eee Pad Transformer (can not choose that if Your "Provider - Phone" field so I had to choose something else)

I wish to buy the game Worms from the Android Market (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ea.worms_na)
But for some reason I get a message sayting something like (Original message is in Norwegian):
"The element can not be installed in your units country"
I know that this game works on this unit from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032381)

Allso if one search the Android Market from a PC (not the tablett as Worms dont even show up there) for Worms (https://market.android.com/search?q=worms&so=1&c=apps) one gets 3 hits for worms?
Clearly there is some diference in these as the top one (1 879) I get the following message:
"The element is not compatible with the unit."
While the other two (393) and (1167) I get this message:
"The element can not be installed in your units country"

I apriciate Your help in this matter.

Regards
My private e-mail address

PS.
As far as I could see there was no Worms to buy at the last link neither, and I beleve something might be wrong with that site aswell as it takes atleast 5 minutes to load (www.eamobile.com loads in about 2 seconds.)
And as I said above if it was only the apk file I wouldent get any closer to actualy playing the game because of the problems when trying to download the remaining parts of the game.

Well, I guess that teaches me a lesson in not just passing on the email I got before checking out the link in detail. :( I will point this out and ask again.

Well, now according to EA, Worms is available on the Android store in Norway. They suggest if you are having problems downloading from the Android store that you try here: www.eamobile.com

This is the link to the Google Play page for "Worms for Android"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ea.worms_na

However, the reviews are terrible... Is it EA's fault ?
Worms Armageddon was a perfect game, isn't there a way to keep it exactly the same while making it work on Android or iOS ?

I'd even be willing to play Facebook Worms on my Android if it was made in Adobe Flash (which got removed from newer phones).

Worms for Facebook doesindeed use Flash, but it's a little fiddly, controls-wise.

Anyone have any information about a new Worms game for Android? Hopefully one with online multiplayer??

...and how can I play Worms Facebook on my Android tablet? I do have the latest Adobe Flash downloaded on it.
