I wrote this review of Alien Breed Episode 1 a bit ago and I am now wondering when Episode 2 is coming out. I suppose if you are interested in episode 1 you might be interested in my review since there is a pc version coming along.

I don't usually post on forums, but I felt that I absolutely must in this case.
Firstly, huge thanks to Team17 for re-imagining this old Amiga classic. Alien Breed/Tower Assault was one of my favourite games and I have been hoping for a long time that it would be remade. This discovery made my day!
Alien Breed Evolution demonstrates perfectly that classic '1st generation' games can compete on 'sixth/seventh generation' consoles. This game is simple and the beauty of it comes from its simplicity. The new visual style is stunning and is all this game needed to sit comfortably on the Xbox 360. The original game, was a beautiful thing and I am glad that Evolution stayed true to it. Games should be all about gameplay, not flashy cinematics that suck the player out of the driving seat.
What this game does superbly is create tension and drama using dynamic lighting and atmospheric sounds. This is what many modern games have forgotten about - old theatrical techniques. For me, it is these details that elevates a game to greatness, not 10km maps that have nothing in them.
The only thing I miss in Evolution is the 'weapon for cash' system that was in the original. You used to have to collect credits around the map, then log in to the ship's computer in order to buy weapons/items/ammunition. It's a shame this system has gone, because it always added an extra tactical and personalised dimension to the game. I could choose which weapons were best for me, rather than just having them all.
It would also be nice to be able to re-map the controls in order to shift the melee attack from the slightly counter-intuitive 'B button' to the button on the right stick. That way, i can bring the smack-down without taking my eye of the iron sights!
These are very minor gripes.
In conclusion, for the price, this game is fantastic. If you want a taste of what gamers did before the days of mmorpg, facebook, iphones and xbox - here it is. This is gaming at its purest. This game is hailing from the golden age of Amigas and Megadrives. Who cares about kill/death ratios, clan tags and leaderboards. Gaming is supposed to be fun. This is.
Rock on episode two.
Cheers.

I really enjoyed Episode 1 and played it quite a bit, you mention how you would like more customization, I think that would be good too. If you are a fan of Alien Breed you might be interested in this game, Dysnomia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj_rwWMULvc) which will be available on the Xbox Indie Channel soon I hope.
There are quite a few Alien Breed style shooters coming to the xbox actually, Evolution is definitely the flashiest of them all though.
wow primal.ice that was a blast to read. I feel the same... you opinion should be shown next to "pro" reviews wich were fast eclipsed by the 1 week 1 game policy of live marketplace. Such an awesome game buried beneath lots of passable games and poor excuses to get your money.
Thanks Darthuvius for the Dysnomia heads up

Hi guys, I thought I would post up a link to our website coverage of the new Alien Breed Evolution.
The original game was a classic. By all accounts Team 17 have begun the revival well and are doing the game's memory justice.

Well, the negative feedback was for the XBox360 version, the PC version got improved based on that negative feedback. That's why it has a different name.
