Is it possible to do so without disabling/muting all other sound fx? Where is this sound fx file located in the game installation/disc?

Either change it to be consistently loud instead of "quite -> loud" (yes it is a incredibly short audio clip) or add a way to remove it, it sounds delayed to me in comparison to when I actually type.

keyclick.wav and keyerase.wav under Data\Wav\Effects (in the game directory).
