So I've got a pretty old PC with a 17" CRT which doesn't have brightness-options. Yes really, I've searched for 30 minutes and you know what a screen menu looks like right? :D

Well here's the problem. The 'native' brightness (or should I say darkness) of this screen.. When I'm on my desktop I can easily adjust brightness via GFX menu and most games have brightness/gamma adjustment options, so it's actually not a big issue.. but I can't play worms with this dark screen. I cannot see pixels on dark landscapes at all.

Can anyone of you guys think of a solution to this problem without having me buy a new monitor? Thanks.

Out of interest, what monitor is it?

Also, if it's really old, the brightness might not be in any screen menus: look for little dials or buttons to twiddle and push on the actual monitor itself. Like as not, you might be able to find the brightness setting there.

Lmfao, I just found the brightness- and contrast-regulators. Now I feel like an idiot. Thanks though guys.

It's the Samsung SyncMaster 750p. The regulators are separated from the actual screen menu, but they're really well hidden.
