I played the original on the Amiga and I'm loving this but have a couple of (minor?) requests:
1. Add an option to reverse the 'rotate camera' buttons. Don't know why, but I tend to want to click the left shoulder button to do a clockwise rotation and vice-versa.
2. Any way you could add an option to remove the bright pulse that travels up the PDA screen? Causes me major eyestrain and is giving me a headache when trying to read the entries. I also can't recommend this to my best friend due to this as he has epilepsy and he wouldn't be able to tolerate it (the blue Cortana vision flashes from Halo 3 caused him major issues for example). Maybe just an option to turn off background visual effects in the PDA screen altogether?
Keep up the great work. It's nice to see a software house from the Amiga days that's still intact and still doing great work!

Likewise, I always hit the wrong button first time!
Loving ABE and looking forward to the second episode :)

I gretly attractive to this game. Alien Breed Special Edition in 1992 was an expanded version which published at the budget price. It was hugely popular staying in the British software charts for a long time of about an year. It given a feature to the movie trailer style advert for Team17's upcoming Superfrog which was unusual at the time. As it wsa released on the Amiga, this version of the game was also released on the Amiga CD32 in a double-pack with Qwak, a platformer puzzle game developed by Jamie Woodhouse.

Yeah I think Team17 needs to rethink their text display system, so hard to read. Also what's the status on episode 2?

I also played through the original Alien Breed games on the good old amiga A500 when i was still a schoolboy (actually to be honest, my class mates & I never did quite make it to the end of Tower Assault). The Xbox360 update looks great & the general atmosphere & 'feel' of the game is spot-on. As a 're-introduction' to the series Team17 have done a superb job in modernising Alien Breed while keeping fans of the original games happy.
I have faith Team17 will respond to some of the less-positive feedback with the coming episodes. With that in mind, there's one very simple option i'd like to see added in future updates/episodes:
An option to rotate the camera in 90' increments (a la Lost Planet) rather than 45' - Why? - Because having to spin the view in such small steps feels like a clunky, awkward compromise between a more practical smooth-panning camera (which i appreciate just wouldn't be very 'Alien Breed') and the simpler but restrictive fixed perspective of the classic 16-bit games.
Having played through the whole game in local co-op mode without encountering any unwelcome difficulties despite the fixed isometric perspective used to avoid player confusion, i can't see any reason why it wouldn't be possible to use the same isometric view in single player/online co-op but allow the player to rotate the view 90' at the tap of a button.
The camera seems to be the most devisive and moaned about aspect of the otherwise very easy-to-use control scheme. I believe this simple fix would make getting the best view of the action quicker, slicker & more intuitive without spoiling the excellent work Team17 have done retaining the old-school Alien Breed formula.
Ain't got time to bleed!
