Hello all,
I've never ever heard of Alien Breed until Team 17 said there releasing it to XBLA. Is it worth my 800 points? It dose look like a game that I could really get into, and since the trial version dosent give you much of a look for the game. So what type of game is Alien Breed? I do love shooters but judgeing from the game screen shots it mite take me sometime to get use to the camera view.
I'd suggest prior to playing Alien Breed Evolution, you checkout Alien Breed Obliteration (http://www.alienbreed.co.uk/) as it is a Windows XP/Vista/7 compatible remake of Alien Breed '92 (unquestionably the most popular of the originals)
It's also a good way to see what this game is actually based on too, cause unfortunately the game it's based on never made it off of the Amiga platform; well I say unfortunately but the Amiga was by far the best platform in the late 80s/early 90s
I think the jump to 3D with Evolution has been done extremely well, loosing very little that made the original so awesome.
It is a little disappointing that Weapon upgrading, exploration of non-mission areas with limited keys and co-op Campaign mode have been omited; but I'm hoping those will see a return in later episodes.
I'd say this is definately worth 800msp, and will give you a good few hours with campaign plus the co-op assault missions add some more playability.
It's a very easy game to pick-up and play, would definately recommend it as one of the better XBLA titles. Right now the only other title I think matching it in terms of quality is Shadow Complex.

I think it's worth it for sure. 800 points for approx. 8-10 hours play through (single player and co-op). Replayability on harder difficulties. The camera takes a bit getting used to but it's pretty good.
This is just a simple shooter but it looks good and is easy to get into.
