I've searched the fourms and I can't seem to find anything that fits my problem.

When I start the game, the screen flickers and when I go into the game (cake bit) background is pink and I can see the icon being nothing more than a black square, so it's a graphical problem.

I've updated my graphics card and that hasn't done it, i've patched the game and that hasn't done it.

I'm using XP home edition I have a duo core graphics card 1 gig, 6 gig of ram, quad core...it's basicly a power house.

Is there any way I can get one of my favourite games to work? I just downloaded some soundbanks for it :(

Hi there,
someone solved it this way:

For myself i agree to Kloppstock's solution.
I also found out, if you have a program running in background which brings something of animation to the screen, you receive exactly this problem.
Whatever it is, a download manager -> showing the downloadspeed bitgraph (which is animated)
or a file manager -> copying files from anywhere to anywhere showing the current file and copyingspeed (animated)
of maybe just a desktop dock, for example a weather info or a rotating clock.

There is one more thing i thought it could solve the problem:
If your wwp shows the pink screen and you kill the running wwp.exe by the use of taskmanager the game will create a tmp file in your wwp directory.
I don't know the exactly name or if it happens everytime but i know i will create a tmp file from time to time.
Try to delete it and run wwp again. I think this solved my problem with the pink screen too sometimes.
You also should reinstall the latest direct x package.

Best regards
