View Full Version : Game disconnects when IRC-client is open

Hello,

I'm actually writing on behalf of my friend so I might not be able to offer all the necessary details at first.

He has Sold-Out version of Worms Armageddon installed on his laptop and desktop computer. When playing with laptop, he keeps mIRC open at his desktop computer and everything works fine, no problems at all.

But when playing with desktop computer and keeping mIRC/irssi open at laptop or desktop computer, IRC connection is lost in some point of the game and he also disconnects from our network game (direct IP). Same happens also in singleplayer game so it's not network game related problem.

Operating system is Windows 7 (laptop has also Ubuntu as secondary operating system) on both computers and he is using WormKIT with color fix module. He is also using latest patch.

What I'm really asking is are there anyone else with the same kind of
problem and have they been able to solve it? Or does development team
know anything about this kind of issue?

I would also like to mention that closing the IRC-client isn't option to
solve problem.

Feel free to ask if you need more details and I'll try to get those.

Is your friend using any kind of software firewall?

He is using F-Secure with "office" level firewalling. Both machines running with same software. No modifications made to basic office level configuration. wa.exe is also allowed to the both directions.

Laptop is running 32b Windows 7 and desktop is 64b, could that make difference?

That could depend entirely on the firewall software.

W:A doesn't do anything to directly affect other running applications; it's very unlikely for this to be a problem in W:A. I would recommend checking if disabling or comptelely uninstalling the firewall application would resolve the problem.
