As most W2:A players already know, there is now a limit to the amount of times you can re-launch your ninja rope. This is set no higher than four, and as low as two times in some game styles. So now, let's find out how everyone feels about this...

Just so we're clear, is this the same rule that W:A has always had?

Yes but in WA you can set repeat swings to infinite. There is no option or scheme in W2A with infinite repeat swing anymore.

well I've not played the W2:A on XBox, but anything that puts a limit on all the roper games is a good thing in my book.

Don't like it.

This game has been nerfed completely. Waiting for WBI now.

50/50.

However I do like that it is nerfed but in pro games it could be lengthened.

Do you HAVE to land or can you just use another, because in crazy crates that would suck.

Looks like a maximum of 4 is the highest any game type may provide...

Take out ropes completely! Make people learn how to actually use the weapons!

Take out ropes completely! Make people learn how to actually use the weapons!nah. it's a really useful movement tool when it's not abused. but it, realistically, shouldn't be used any more often than the chute or the bungee.

I don't mind it, but it doesn't seem to stop those annoying players from ninja-roping across the map on an island to drop a dynamite at my last worm. *Sigh*

i am one of those annoying people, thankyouverymuch.
perhaps you should just count on that being a possibility and prepare for it.
complaining about this is like complaining about people using parachutes and kamikazes in fort matches.
upside-down ninjaroping is a skill and is quite fair if everyone would just learn to use it.
those of us that do lose our fair share of worms to a mistimed reattach, believe me. all teh limit has really done is make us much more likely to be less artful about how we beat you.

"all teh limit has really done is make us much more likely to be less artful about how we beat you."

I don't know - you can still be pretty artful on the rope regardless of the number of re-ropes you have. The landscapes of W2:A are pretty small, and you can usually get around the entire map with a single re-rope. Surely having less re-swings means you have to be more artful in your approach.

I must admit that I am quite surprised at the number of people who disagree with the rope limitations. I didn't expect that considering the amount of people who prefer the Forts gametype, which relies enitrely on projectile weapons.

Hehe. I think certain of your previous titles may (http://wormtube.worms2d.info/?id=66) have had something to do with that. :p

well see thats the thing... i do prefer the fort games. there friggin AWESOME!
but i di still like to toss about a good limited weapons game so i spend a lot of time on pro as well, but there are just some nuances of a good cross country inverted ninja-roping expedition that are lost if you dont have a good number of reattachments to work with... the smaller area is also kinda a bummer for those of us who like to do such a thing... maybe a throwback area on live would be a good idea?
i personally think im the most awesome person on the planet for even suggesting it! ;)
but yes, youre correct that its much more challenging to go crazy and make someone want to throw their controller through their tv screen with the limitations... but its also less insane when it gets to a couple guys in a match that are zipping across a field 3 times just for the sake of doing it...
though really the unlimited rope was a better thing with the old game since there were 4 players in ranked matches... and at least i dont have to dig through 900 rope races to get to a real game if im in a hurry now.
god i do hate a rope race. those were awful.
