Hello.
I recently came to college, and most of the ports in the dorm, if not all, are blocked. I wrote a request to the admin to open, among others, the worms port, for me, that being 17011. Well, now I can log into worm-net, but only with snooper, and it can`t view the player list, or the chat box, only the hosted games list. I can enter a game, but only with direct IP connection, and it sometimes lags me out.
Can anyone tell me which other ports I have to open to play without problems ?

You could use the web snooper: http://snoop.worms2d.info/

You will need to allow outgoing port 6667. It's the default IRC port and is often blocked by local firewalls and schools.

Haven't been on-line yesterday to tell you, but in case you read this thread before logging in Y!Messenger, you know I run a high speed proxy server on my grandma's PC, so if you still have problems, PM me.

Thanks Mihai, but I think my problem is of another nature :). I may give it a try later on, mate.
I activated port 6667, but it still doesn`t work. If you guys have other suggestions, let me know. The only thing that works since I opened the ports is X-fire; uTorrent also isn`t working yet.

Can you get a WireShark log of a WormNET connection attempt? You can use the capture filter "host 212.240.191.125" to only capture WormNET traffic.

wormnet works for now. I told the admin to open port 6667, and after a couple of days, it works.
Thanks for the help, guys ! :D

if anyone could help with another problem.
I was able to join games, I`ll be starting on Sunday again on a new PC so I want to have my ports opened.
When I previously had ports 6667 and 17011 opened, I could join games with direct connection via IPs, but I couldn`t join games when the hosting was done via worms2d.proxy or something like that. It appeared on the loading screen while joining games.
Is there a port that I could open for joining games via that proxy ?

Hello.

I have the same problem, actually. And that's why people can't see me on WormNET or IRC these days.

Maybe it's a good thing, I think. This can let me focusing on school works without spending too much time on Worms. :p
