A new Alien Breed after quite some time? Yes... and we are busy working on it!

The game will be on-line and off-line co-op (2 players).

Intex Systems is back!

Initially on XBOX360 live and it will arrive PS3 later.

It will include a brand new piece of music from Allister Brimble that will be in the game somewhere.

The game will be released in 3 episodes, we are confident that each episode will give the player plently to play in single player and repeat multi player as people compete to be top of the leaderboards. You will be able to play each episode independantly of the others but the story narrative will arc across all 3 episodes and if you have all three you will have to swap between them because Microsoft see each episode as a different game, they each have their own title id. We are working on all 3 episodes at once but there will be a gap inbetween each episode probably of a few months but that is still to be finalised. We think each episode will come in at about 500 meg.

We are full "steam" ahead with the PC version. :) [volcadmin note, this is a quote and not my pun!]

We have used the Unreal engine and in some instances really pushed the boat out. We think it's great, but we are biased. One last word tho on the multiplayer experience, i've played this game all through development and i still get excited playing multiplayer, it rocks my socks off.

It's shaping up quite well. Saw this on BBC News as well (news report on how the gaming industry is now worth £4bn+ and business is booming etc) and look forward to it.

As an old Amiga user I am really looking forward to the new Alien Breed. I purchased the port of Pinball Fantasies for the PSP yesterday which I had on the Amiga, same music and everything. I am starting to think of all the great games by Team 17 and others that could find a new home on the PS3 or Xbox.

I really hope that this isnt the last excellent Team 17 classic Amiga game that gets a new release. Superfrog anyone? :)

This truly makes me incredibly happy!

Depending on how long it will take for the PS3 version to arrive (and, yes, please consider PSP), I will go out and purchase an XBox just for this game.

It looks like you've decided to NOT go with a FPS type camera. Please confirm that the camera style in the YouTube video is indeed what the entire game will be like! I'd be VERY pleased with that.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Thanks it's nice ! It's so funny to see the come back of Alien Breed, 18 years after the 1st release in Amiga. As a big Amiga fan in the past, I am little bit happy of that, with coop online mode (oh yeah !) and of course 800 MSP is a good news :)

TEAM17 is delighted and very proud to announce the arrival of ALIEN BREED EVOLUTION (Episode 1) on Wednesday, December 16th on Microsoft Xbox Live Arcade, priced at just 800 Microsoft Points ($10/£6 approx).

The game features incredible fidelity and attention to detail throughout, awesome audio effects and an engaging single player narrative. The pulsating story takes the game's hero through an intense ride through a stricken craft, onto a mysterious, ageing hulk ship and beyond.

In addition to the explosive single player story, the game also offers a relentless, action packed, two-player co-operative battle mode for online and offline local action with a number of difficulty modes to challenge all skills.

The game features hours of dramatic single and multiplayer action, unique and exciting set pieces, thrilling bosses to fight and incidental surprises throughout.

* The story is conveyed by fantastic comic-book art and quality voice acting, the narrative unfolds and twists with dramatic climaxes and truly epic battles.
* Developed using Epic Software's Unreal® technology, the title boasts stunning, state of the art visual effects.
* Fine audio finesse, including a fully re-mastered edition of Allister Brimble's cult original game title track, you have a title that's high on quality, nostalgia and meticulous attention to detail.

Alien Breed Evolution raises the quality and production bar for original digital download titles and especially so at the attractive price-point. It all adds up to make one of the slickest, directly entertaining titles in Team17's history and a worthy modern remake of one of its earliest and most admired pick up and play titles.

Alien Breed Evolution also continues Team17s recent rebirth as an independent digital publisher, with all it's previous Worms titles hitting top spot in terms of digital sales charts on XBLA, PSN and AppStore.

Initially exclusive to Xbox 360, the trilogy will also be available for PC and PlayStation3 in 2010.

Alien Breed History:
Alien Breed is recognised as one of the foremost fondly remembered Amiga games ever released. The original Alien Breed game was launched on Amiga in 1991, developed and published by Team17 Software Ltd. A title that announced Team17's arrival as a quality indie developer-publisher... quite some years before they had a hit with those little pink blighters, WormsTM.

The game was an instant success and a sequel of sorts, Alien Breed Directors Cut, released in 1992 spending an incredible 33 unbroken weeks at the top of the UK Gallup Budget Charts. A full sequel was released in 1993 (Alien Breed 2) and a 3D edition, which won a number of technical achievement awards in 1994. The well-loved series has lain dormant for 14 years, until now, arriving in stunning fashion with the production-heavy 'Alien Breed Evolution'.

Am definitely going to try this. From the videos it looks really good. I've only played 2 of Team 17's games series, so I'll be trying something new.

Ok, it's just appeared on LIVE and it's priced at 1200 points. This after it was announced officially as being 800. I feel a bit deceived here.

What gives?

Just checked my account and I have been refunded the 400 difference. (pssstt... it's worth 1200 points anyway, that's why I paid it)
