View Full Version : What are you speed-testing...
This needs its own thread so people who aren't show-off tits can go back to talking about hamsters and stuff. Although, it'd be interesting to speed-test your hamster if you have one.

Seems about right since I've got a 24/10 connection.

It could be worse...

Aww, I'm not the best at either download or upload.

Oh, maybe if I find something else to measure...

You're probably the best all-rounder...
If I weren't downloading the Android SDK (in preparation for when I get an HTC Hero at Christmas... yeah, a long way away...) I'd be doing this...
EDIT: Wow, I used a lot of elipseses here...

My router disagrees:
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,235 / 4,130
My package is supposedly 1.3Mb / 24Mb

That's weird, I've never heard of somebody getting more upload speed than down. It's always the other way around. I guess it's good if you just want to run dedicated servers. :p

Re-read M3ntal's post - his router gives the speed as up/down, not down/up :p

When I used to live in the dormitories, in the times of day when there's weren't very many people online, I used to get 200Mb+ down. My roommate's connection was limited by his 100Mb LAN card, not by the internet speed. Even so, he seeded on uTorrent by the TB.
My e-Wang now has erectile dysfunction...

WOW!
I can beat that download speed, but currently my upload is in the ****ter, most likely because of the upgrades my ISP is currently performing. :p

On the work PC yesterday (connected to the uni's wired network) I got about 35MBit download, whereas on my laptop (connected to the uni wireless and doing the speedtest at the same time) I got 15MBit download. The thing is, every page loaded about 2 - 3 times faster on my laptop than the work PC. I never realised how slow and clunky IE actually was! (well I knew it was clunky, just not that slow at rendering pages).
Upgrade complete!

Tragically, it's infinitely easier to max out my download than my upload on the only private torrent tracker I have access to. Stupid tubes...

Home line on my netbook. Speed varies, we have "up to" 100mbit. Strangely, we pay for 100/10 yet that upload is clearly higher than 10. Still. I love Sweden. I love Sweden so much.

I'm still the winner. Wait... :(
Upload was faster than download at work today. Maybe because transfers slow down over time, and the upload file is smaller.
