Hey,

Here's a weird problem:
If I set my primary monitor as my TV (resolution 1920x1080) worms will fail launch with the following error: ---------------------------
Front-end video initialization error
---------------------------
** Error ** : from Graphics Subsystem , Unable to set desired video mode

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

To fix this, I have to change the TV's resolution to 1280x720, 1152x648 or 800x600. Any other resolution would show the above error.

I have already searched for the error (http://worms2d.info/Troubleshooting_FAQ#.22Graphics_subsystem_error_-_Unable_to_set_desired_video_mode.22), and I doubt this has to do anything with my GPU. Besides, the frontend works when I use my desktop monitor (1680x1050).

The in-game resolution can be 1920x1080 with no problems. It's just the front-end that doesn't work.

No errorlog.txt or crash.dmp is generated.

Windows 7 64bit (happens with and without WormKit (with wkColorFix))
ATI X1950 Pro

I'm not sure there is anything we can do about this, since what happens is DirectX refusing to set the video mode requested by W:A. I would suggest you contact your video card manufacturer.

FYI, the video mode W:A is trying to set is 640x480 with paletted 8-bit color (256 colors in total).

That does sound quite odd actually, could be a buggy driver. Is the resolution you are referring to your desktop resolution? Have you tried updating your graphics drivers? (If they have them for Windows 7)
