Ive been playing on a downloaded copy of worm verison 3.6.28.0 for the last few months. Just today I bought the original copy and updated it to 3.6.29.0. But when i play it seems to lagg every few seconds making it really hard to rope(this is playing offline). Also i cant make schemes using cheats anymore so is there a download to get them back?

Try playing on a black background (Press Insert several times). See if it improves the game-play. Also, make sure there are no other processes stressing your CPU. And maybe try ending explorer.exe.

In regard to schemes using cheats, edit your team with one of the available team editors, or use a scheme editing utility.

gj buying the game.

make an iso image of the game and mount it. this will cut out any lag from scratched disc or faulty disc drive

i dont know if this falls on the wrong side of the fence or not, but you can update the pirated install and it will start asking for the disc. if it works why replace it? youl keep your "cheats" as well as any of the custom graves and soundbanks that came with it.

Why replace it? Because the pirated version is illegal and using it without buying a legal CD deprives the people who made it of revenue that is rightfully theirs. Also, the pirated versions can't be updated, as you just pointed out. TapUHard should try getting his/her legal version to work. You shouldn't advise people to keep pirated versions.

1) i WAS NOT condoning the pirate version

2) you CAN update the pirate version, it will replace all needed files for the update and FORCE IT TO ASK FOR THE DISC. if the pirated install works fine, and updating it removes the piracy, why uninstall just to turn around and install???

3) creating an image of the disc and mounting it is not considered as piracy http://worms2d.info/Running_WA_without_the_CD

4) please read before posting

5) there is no point in responding to any of this because it is not going to help TapUHard get WA running smoothly.

1) reinstall the game from the CD as a pre-cracked downloaded version may have more then just the EXE file changed.

2) go into your BIOS and disable Intel Speedstep, Cool n' Quiet and/or the "Enhanced Halt State" features.

You don't need to disable it through BIOS. Vista can properly set up SpeedStep. Also, the problem can be heavy reads and writes to your hard disk while playing (don't ask me why).

yeah, what a witty move

Wits and Wit aren't the same thing.
Wit is a form of humour, such as you are referring to.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wit

Wits are your mental faculties, common sense etc.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/wits

5. Usually, wits.
a. powers of intelligent observation, keen perception, ingenious contrivance, or the like; mental acuity, composure, and resourcefulness: using one's wits to get ahead.
b. mental faculties; senses: to lose one's wits.

Find a better dictionary. Both terms have the same ambiguity.

By the way, make sure that you have backed up your files before reinstalling WA (usually WA\User folder). Otherwise you'll find your files being overwritten by the installer.

There is also a program called WormsBackup (http://worms2d.info/WormsBackup) which helps you do this.

Reinstalling doesn't delete extra files and you do not need backup utilities for WA to copy a folder or archive it in place.

well im glad that you got it working with the iso mounting, TapUHard. if you want to keep your team, maps, graves, sound banks etc. just copy the user file from the pirate copy to your new install(incase the pirate ver has a dif install path than the legit copy)

IIRC, although the installer doesn't remove extra files, it does replace modified files, so your saved data, especially your teams' file (User\Teams\WG.WGT), will be lost.

Oh, yeah, right! I forgot there are obsessed people around here that may end their life if losing the teams file.
