Hey All,

I haven't played in ages and just set up WA on my PC again. Right after the trumpet/signon sound plays, the screen freezes for 5 seconds or so. It happens in a few other places when navigating through the WormNET windows and option pages.

I 1/2 remember something like this before when I had Worms running on my rickety old computer, but I think I attributed it to the PC being so old.

This is happening on my PC with 4gigs of RAM, GeForce 9600GT, Q9450, etc... not the same machine from the past.

Is this normal? It's more annoying than inhibiting. I just want to know if you can get rid of it. Ive read FAQs and troubleshooting pages and haven't come across the problem yet....although that may be because it can probably be phrased a whole different type of ways.

Anyhow, thanks.

I haven't heard of such a problem as well. Do you have any antivirus or firewall software installed?

Nothing more than the Windows firewall, but there's an exception for Worms. Altho my WiMax modem has a NAT that you can't port forward with (it's really lame..you have to call them up to open the port), so I'm using WormNAT2 (thanks btw--It works great).

It also happens when you get to the list of online matches screen. I'm almost sure this happened on XP when I had WA installed in 2003 or so.

So the screen freezes so that the mouse pointer doesn't move as well?

If so, please install WormKit (http://worms.thecybershadow.net/wormkit/) and the following WormKit module: 32227. Then, run the game via WormKit, reproduce the freeze and try to press Ctrl+Break before W:A unfreezes. W:A should close, and a file named FREEZE.DMP should be created in your W:A folder. Find and post this file here.

That's right, the pointer freezes too. I'll be sure and do that after work. Thanks cybershadow!

This was generated from when I signed onto WormNET. The trumpeting sound was still playing when I exited. It's normally 9 or 10 seconds and I hit the button combo almost immediately.

The 2nd file was generated when I entered #AnythingGoes, and I waited a few more seconds (like 3or 4).

Hope that helps! I'd love to get rid of that

Did anything ever come of this?

Sorry, I missed your messages due to a forum bug.

It looks like you're using a pre-release version of Windows. Not only that we can't support running W:A on pre-release Windows versions, but I can't investigate the problem due to lack of published debugging symbols. Please try again with a stable Windows version, and try updating your video card drivers as well.
