Dear Team 17,

There is a bug in Worms 2 XBLA that causes the game to "forget" its some of its save data and put every launch on the "newcomer" intro code path.

The bug manifests when the gamer profile is not on the same storage media as the game itself. Scenario: I have a hard drive but store my gamer profile on a memory unit for performance and portability reasons. In the case where Worms 2 resides on the HD and my gamer profile on the MU, the game just can't remember than I'm not a "newcomer" and my campaign save is lost (but created teams remain). However, if I move my gamer profile to the hard drive, or I move the game to the MU (so both are in the same place), the game remembers my "newcomer" status and campaign progress just fine.
I don't know if this has anything to do with the fact that while my profile is the one that purchased the game, I am not playing on the purchasing console. I can test this out if you so desire on my other console. Please resolve this issue ASAP. No other XBLA game has such an issue in this scenario.

Thank you,

Flavius (ElektroDragon)

It is a known issue that this happens if you move the save to a different console.

Does this also apply to transfers done with the Hard Drive Transfer Kit?

This is known and is being worked on as priority one.

Also, I don't know if it effects HD transfer kits. I don't think it does because you move all the data, like everything.

This problem is really quite confounding. I downloaded the trial at home, and took my hard drive over to a friend's. Hooked up my hard drive to his box to check out the trial, and decided to buy it. When I went back home, it said I was a new recruit again. After losing all my save data, I deleted the game and all its info from my hard drive and tried redownloading it. Played almost all the way through single player only to have it wipe my save when I stopped playing. How on earth is the game even doing this?

Priority 2 should be to fix the game freezing when you select landscape you bought from the shop.

I was visiting some relatives and saw that Worms 2 had come out so I of coarse bought it immediately.
Now back on my home console every time I start the game it says I'm a newcomer.
