View Full Version : Oh god [epic comeback ruined at the end by bug]

SIGH. One of the most epic comebacks I've ever made ruined on the last turn by a bug or something although I would have won a turn or two earlier if not for being bugged there too.

He had three worms left in our ranked match, two with fairly high health and I had one with 50. This guy actually had done over 500 ranked games games and was alright but wasn't playing the smartest. He should have won earlier but didn't seem to put even one of his worms at risk to get to me and sometimes leaving his somewhat vulnerable.

I used a bridge kit and got in between two objects and made a tunnel guarded by a sentry gun. He blew through the object at a bad time because two of his worms were next to each other and I was able to kill both by roping out and coming back.

Then I was working on taking out his other worm. I had a sheep which would have taken him out but as usually happens with this game, after dropping it from a rope, the game refused to let me detonate it. Luckily it at least jumped back and gave him 30 dmg or so and left him with 20-30. He hurt himself down to 8 health trying to do the same thing to me.

So I just got to lob a soft easy grenade onto him (he had sentry that kept me from getting closer), and as soon as I press A to charge the throw a little bit, the game just decides to drop the grenade immediately without letting me charge. It just so happened I was sitting right on top of my sentry gun so I was defenseless and lost next turn right before sudden death.

Sorry just had to rant.

Oh wow.

500 Games? Not putting worms at risk?

Crook AI?

Also, that is extremely lame to hear that you lost due to a bug. I've had that happen, but I think it might be because of the combonation of the rope, and a the weapon.

One time I think I used the rope, got off, used it again and decided to get off (again), instead of getting off, it dropped a dynamite. I'm fairly certain I did not press X, but then again, there are user errors too.

I have seen my friend suffer the "sheep will not detonate" bug too. He released it in a normal fashion though, stood on land, so its not specific to the rope. Although, I cannot remember if he had used the rope previously to reach that point.

OH MY GOD!

I had a sheep land directly onto a mine and then get stuck there.

if you drop a sheep from a rope, you can detonate it with X, the same button you release it with. similar to when youre on foot, you release and detonate with the same button, on foot - release with A, detonate with A. once you get off of the rope, you can no longer detonate the sheep though.

the easy workaround for this is to just stay on your rope until you want to detonate the sheep...you still get your retreat time after the sheep blows up...

i think its kind of silly that you cant detonate the sheep once you get off of the rope, but thats how it works. just stay on the rope, hit X to release the sheep, move to where you want while the sheep is walking, hit X to detonate, and THEN swing or detach and walk to safety...
