On the 16th of July 1969, Apollo 11 was launched. On the 20th the Lunar Lander Module touched down. That's 40 years ago tomorrow and it's quite a big deal.
The above link lets you relive the Apollo 11 mission in real time and features a veritable plethora of photos, soundbytes, facts and figures to accompany the whole thing. After the mission you'll be able to watch the whole thing at your own pace.
I for one will be watching intently at every possible opportunity. I figured some of you probably would, too.
Kleenex, anyone?
Oh also, weather permitting, there's a Shuttle launch tonight which you can watch on NASA TV (http://www.nasa.gov/ntv). I think it launches quite soon (like in the next hour or so) but I'm not sure.
edit: I forgot to mention, it's not just any Shuttle. It's NASA's last ever shuttle. And it's supposed to launch in about 38 minutes (not taking the T-9 hold into account).
