View Full Version : Some suggestions about wormopedia

1. Add a table of contents. So that users can easily navigate through it.
2. Add an "X" button in the page that goes back to the TOC mentioned above.
3. Add texts in other languages. (I'm sure that the texts are stored in WWP.exe, so ripping them shouldn't be difficult.)
It's a wiki. This means you can easily add things yourself.
And are you seriously asking to add a table of content with just about any article that's there? I thought you wanted the site to be easily navigated through.
As for different languages, see comment above. Not sure if Cybershadow will agree with it, though

We probably won't add a table of contents, but we might add the other languages. (They're not stored in WWP.exe, which is why we missed them at first.)

Thanks for replying.
Actually, they are in the WWP.EXE string table. (both v1.0 and v1.01)
ID 10200 to ID 10465. (Opened using ResEdit from TGTSoft (http://www.tgtsoft.com/prod_rb.php).)
EDIT: If you don't mind, I can attach some string tables here.

..in all languages?

Yes, checked in both Europe and US version.
(I didn't check the Polish version since its SP1 patch is packed with ClickTeam Install Maker, which I can't extract.)

I'm not sure which CD version I have, but the strings are kept in different WWP.EXE files stored under the Data\Resource directory on the CD. (I assume the installer copies only the version corresponding to the selected language).

cool!
also, i think it would be a good idea to have a page just for replays, like intersting ones (glitches and expert maches and tricks and stuff). that would be fun. i like waching them. also, show some replay files with certain programs running like constipated silkworm or rubberworm!
(btw, how do you get that spinning avatar?)

That is correct. In fact, you can quickly switch the game language by just replacing the WWP.exe with the language you want.(AFAIK, it works in Europe version)
double post edit
Here are the string tables I've opened. (French and German from Europe version)
The table is converted to XML format by ResEdit.
Hope these helps.

Was that a manual double post edit? Or have they re-added automatic ones?

Manual. (It's possible to attach files when editing)
Could someone also add the "lost pages" of the Wormopedia which were not available in certain CD versions (e.g. Greenpepper budget re-release of the EU version)?
I'm speaking of these:

Translations added :)
Note that the "lost pages" have only been translated to some languages (Spanish, French, Italian, Russian and Polish).
Edit: also added Russobit-M's Russian translation, I hope they won't mind.
Edit 2: also added the Polish translations from the patch.

I'm quite positive that they were not there minutes before I wrote my previous post. Maybe I should have cleared my browser's cache though.
Anyway, another, final request:
Could you link the last page to the first page and vice versa by activating those two greyed out arrows, so one can circle through all pages?
I know that this isn't consistent with the original in-game version any more, but it would make it faster to get to a specific page.

Anything you type in the address bar after the domain name (and language prefix) works like a full-text search. Example:

We probably won't add a table of contents...
How about adding it here? Since the page does not exist yet.

I can make that page, if allowed
