View Full Version : Buggy game - deletes save games on different consoles

When playing the game on a different console, even though you are signed in all your data is wiped, including coins and all stuff bought at shop and mission progress. However, your teams are not wiped.

This only happens when loading the game up (from the same hard drive and profile which is signed into live) on a different Xbox 360 console. When the game is launched on a different console the prompt comes out about being your first time, even if you press the B button to cancel that it says "Saving.." and wipes all your data except teams. So even if you go put it on the original console your data is lost.

Was any Beta testing done before this game was released?

I can confirm the same happens to me as well, when the save game and profile is moved to another console your save game is basically wiped and the game thinks its the first time you have played. After going through the initial setup process you will find your old team is there but all your progress is lost.

Probably, yes. Not many people cart their hard drives around you know. Also, I've found that very many of my XBLA games do that, so obviously the fault isn't with Team17.

I beg your pardon?

Not many people cart their hard drives (or memory cards for that)????

The whole thing about the Xbox 360 hard drive (and memory units) is the ability to detach them and take them round to other peoples houses. Perhaps you in your life don't have that option, but those of us with friends who have 360's tend to play games around other peoples houses. The amount of times my profile has been signed in on friends xbox's to play games like Halo, Gears, the original XBLA worms and other arcade games is too high for me to remember. The whole Xbox 360 system and profile is designed for that purpose, when you sign in anywhere it downloads all your game licenses so it can be played there.

Ive never ONCE found an Xbox Live Arcade game which when loaded on another console, deletes all your progress. What about all the 360 owners (a large percentage to) who have had their Xbox's replaced as they Red Ringed and such? Do they deserve all there content erased?

I mean, I support Team 17 when I can and have bought all there games, but to come on an internet forum and try to defend what is a major game breaking bug and trying to justify it is just stupid. If you want to work for Team 17, send them a CV, dont try and defend game breaking bugs on their forum as "acceptable".

I take my profile / saves with me on a memory card to friends all the time for Xbox Lans, I’ve never had problems with saves from arcade games getting erased before.

With the original Worms arcade game just signing your profile in on a friends consoles brings all your settings / teams across.

@robowurmz

I think you are mistaken. There ARE some Arcade games which save your game data to your gamer profile, so if you go round to a friends house and recover your profile you lose the save data (because you can no longer sign in using the profile at home with your save data on it).

However I am not aware of any such problem before if you take the physical memory card with your profile and save games on it, then stick them in another console.

This is really a big concern for this game. This is one game I am likely to play against friends once I get a second Xbox 360. It will be annoying to have to use a second save game to avoid wiping my first one. Hopefully this glitch will be fixed by the time I get the second console.

This issue with save games has been reported already. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I just unknowingly had this happen to me as well and lost my whole single player progress... Really discouraged now to even start over and with all the freezing online... :(

I downloaded this game onto my friend's Xbox first because I was at his house and we wanted to get down to some local multiplay... now I can't play the game on my own Xbox because my save gets erased every time I exit the game

One thing to possible try, if you look in the memory management on the Xbox 360 Dashboard, Worms 2 Armageddon has a Save File (as well as the Arcade Game) if you delete the save game onl and then load up the game on the console your going to play it exclusively on, it may work.

Just a possible work around. Though you would still need to ensure you only load the game and the save up on that Xbox.

I'm happy to hear that you are aware of the problem. Does that mean a fix is coming? I buy all my xbla games on the 360 in the living room (for the family to play). I then go the bedroom and play on my own private 360 using my profile. I made it to campaign level 29 the first day and then the next time I boot it up I'm greeted to the "new recruit" message. :( I've been trying random things to get it to load properly but nothing has worked. Hopefully a patch will help.

Good idea, but it didn't work; I still get the "new recruit" message every time I boot up :(

My DVD drive died in mine and I got a new 360. I've deleted the whole game itself, the saved game file, and the gamer pic. Restarted and re-downloaded and it still didn't fix it.
How can it be that tied into the original system? I know the copy protection is tied to systems somehow, but that's only for opening the game up to other profiles on the original system and preventing you from just downloading it to a friends system and them playing it under their profile, but you can still play it under YOUR profile. The copy protection shouldn't muck with the game save like this.

One thing I have noticed that is odd about the game save file, is that it doesn't appear to be tied to a profile. Normally game saves show the profile that they belong to, but the Worms 2 just says its a game save with no specific profile listed.

I'm worried exactly the same thing is going to wipe my completed save data.

My Xbox was off for repairs at the time, so I bought Worms 2 on my brothers console. Now I have a replacement, and I have transferred all of my game licences to it. Will my game data still get wiped if the new console has the licence?
