View Full Version : Refresher...
Hey guys! It's me, Podzy. I'm back on the WA after i found the CD hidden deep within my dad's workshop.
SO i was just wondering... how do i make it so when i load my custom map that i made, it doesn't make me Shrink the map?
I know i already asked this question, but i forgot >.<

See here: http://worms2d.info/Colour_map#Using_colour_maps
Refer to the rest of the article if W:A refuses to load your map.
I remember having a discussion about this...
the number can be divisable by 8 and/or 6 right? and is it the seperate numbers ( ex 640pixels is divisible by 8 and 32 pixels is divisble by 8) although now that i think of it, even if you add/multiply them together they will still both be divisible by 8 (or 6?).

The first question is answered in the article I linked to. The second question is basic math - sums or products of multiples of N will also be divisble by N.
And just another thing...
i cant seem to be able to import graves.
i have made different graves, and i have put themin the place where the pictures of graves are, saving it as a bitmap (same format as the graves origionally[lolicantspellorigional>.<] in), and i also made it the same size, but it doesnt show up...

Have you checked the format restrictions on http://worms2d.info/Custom_team_grave ?
Tyvm
i've been looking for the answer for a while... i was saving as 24 colour Bmp instead of 256 >.<
And just another question >.<
Does it support Png picture formats? the Map Generator and Another map i found are in a PNG format >.<

It says plainly in the first link I posted that W:A accepts PNG maps with certain restrictions.
Hey, also... can i import my own theme?
where should i put it... i could probably figure out myself, but i dont wanna get confused if i cant >.<

Theme ?
when you win it plays your theme...
i couldn't find where XD
EDIT: anthem i guess it could be called...
I FINDED IT!!!
except it doesnt work... its in C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\Fanfare... but every time i try to play it it plays the canadian national anthem...
EDIT: it's a wav file so i guess thats what it'd be on as all the "fanfares".
Make sure you have selected it in team options. Also, if you're on XP, try playing it in sound recorder. If the scope (the bit that displays the sound waves) works, that's a pretty good indication that it should work in W:A. If it doesn't (just displays a green square), that's a pretty good indication that it won't work in W:A.
There is no scope in Vista iirc, or at least not in the Windows 7 version.

I tried that already (even before u said it ^^)
if u want i could send you the theme and maybe you could try it?
EDIT: i have also tried selecting a different anthem before selecting my custom one, but it always plays the Canadian one. o.O
And i have also tried beating someone in a game while it's selected, but it's always the same one :(
And another question...
that thing you gave me to the size of the maps... does it have to be a 80:29 ratio AND divisible by 8?
i have a map that should be divisible by 8, but it's not a 80:29 ratio...
it's a picture of my desktop (i used a black background when i took a picture ^_^), so i cant make it smaller or it looks like crap... i cant move the start menu bar down so it makes room for a bigger bottom...
the size of my map is 2720 (width) and 1000 height
It doesn't have to have an 80:29 ratio. I have no idea where you got that from.

How about you browse around on http://worms2d.info/ to find out everything you want to know and stop asking questions that have been answered there already?
I find that actively searching for answers makes people more likely to actually remember the answer than just having them handed out to them.
Also a good way of finding out if you can play on a certain map you've already finished is by just trying to play on it.
The 80:29 ratio is only there to help you make bigger/smaller maps with the same proportions as original W:A maps. You don't have to make them that big.

I'm trying to make a map thats 2720W and 1000H. They are both divisible by 8, but it still makes me shrink or crop.

Using colour maps
To load a colour map in W:A, copy it to your User\SavedLevels folder, or a subfolder of that folder. You can load your map in W:A by opening the map editor (right-click the map thumbnail), and selecting the map from the drop-down combo box.
Retrieved from "http://worms2d.info/Colour_map"
I'm guessing you're using the import function then instead of doing this?
Should i be using that? it's always worked with import...

Really dude, you should check out the WKB and use it as a knowledge base. If you want to know something then the answer is most probably there.
Obviously the community is happy to help (which, incidentally, is why CyberShadow linked you to the site in the first place) but come on...
Maybe someone should write a LMGTFY-alike for WKB. I mean, this (http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=site%3Aworms2d.info+PNG+Maps) doesn't really cut it. :p

Now that THAT has been solved...
I cant find how to make the Fanfare work >.<

I've googled and i've went on worms 2d... but can't find anything on fanfare
It says plainly in the first link I posted that W:A accepts PNG maps with certain restrictions.
couldn't you just make W:A cut the map to to fit the nearest right size? 1-7 pixels are such a little space

wtf are you talking about...
i dont care about map size.. i already know about it!!!!!
i cant find out about the fanfare though!!!!!!!!
nor I. But I just looked up in the user folder, and there's a fanfare folder. The file format should be the same of the fanfare that you can find on the cd (pcm, 16 bit, 221000 khz).
anyway I wasn't speaking to you, that's why I quoted CyberShadow.

Don't deny your origins. There's no shame in being Canadian.
another joke and he'll blow up.

I've no idea whether this will help but have you tried renaming it to something like music.wav?
Also, as pisto said, double-check the bitrate of the audio file.
