First off I'd like to say thanks to team 17 for the excellent wormage over the years. Worms was one of my first deathmatches via an ancient 9600 baud modem (blazing fast) , I 86'd the kid the down the street with a shotgun snipe, ah the glory days.

*wags finger* but you shouldn't have sold us salty PC vets out for the rockstar fame of an XBLA exlusive, even if it is temporary. Trying to get your bling on? Got some cases of Dom Perignon on order? Understandable. But don't let it happen again.

As far as suggestions go, here's a couple things I always wanted in a 2d worms game:

Camera controls for replays! The kids would love it. Also the ability to save replays. We all have that perfect banana bomb we tell stories about, if only we could show people the power and majesty first hand!

I always thought it would be great to keep a lot more stats, treat worms like a sports game treats players while keeping persistent stats over a worms career. We'd have something to show for our 1 millionth nade kill. More variety and a ridiculous number of end of match worm awards (perhaps with a persistent linked stat yeh?) would be great too. I think everyone loves those things.

That wraps up my long standing worms wishlist. Other than that I'd love to see a huge variety of multiplayer options along with ladders and tournaments etc. Turn worms into an online sport, nerds don't play football or golf, we play worms.

If you'd been following the updates to WA for the past 10 years, you'd know that all games are saved for later viewing pleasure. If you're talking about a crop feature for creating shorter replays out of the long game files, then I'd agree with that (unless we already have that too and I just don't know how to do it?)

Also, camera controls? Such as what? :-/

Ladders and tournaments are thing of such age that I always forget how bad they became. I guess as long as the new game has better controls over the rankings and doesn't allow easy cheats, then it'd be nice to see it return.

Stats idea is good, like.

Just heard about this new one on Kotaku. Thats cool that you can save replays of the entire game. I was talking about the "instant" replay that all the worms games have had when you do something spectacular, giving us the ability to save and rewatch those with camera controls to zoom out etc. (as the standard replay tracks the grenade or shell while crazy stuff could be happening via mines or what have you off screen.)

I think if they're planning for a steam release on PC cheating in multiplayer will be easier to deal with. I'm sure it will happen but between steams file "validation" or whatever and their VAC (or is that only for valve games?) it should be able to curb anything easy. Another advantage of the steam release would be the huge built in audience that should keep multiplayer servers populated and game matching relatively quick.

I'd to see the enviromental effects return from OW2 with an always on option making a scheme. I would love around where missles randomly fell in between turns for the entire match, adding to the danger. If not in release, at least as dlc.

Enviromental effects are in. See the trailer.

Scheme creating is in too.

Does falling missiles count as an environmental effect? That is cool, that kind of thing.

What I was wondering was if there was an option, while making a scheme, to have enviromental effects last the entire game, ie Bombing Run effect from WW1 landscapes in WOW2.

Oh you mean the flak/floods/black hole effects from WOW 2? I thought you meant effects happening in the background.

Not been mentioned yet.

Maybe I missed this, but have they said anything about teams? Like 2vs2?

Or how many worms can be on each team? Like up to 8 worms per player instead of limited to 4 like the first one?

I think 2vs2 was the most glaring omission from the first Worms XBLA, since you could basically just agree to play that way in a local or player match if everyone wanted to anyway. There was just no 'official' way to set it up.

My favorite gametype from Armageddon was 2vs2 Forts. That would be amazing in HD
