Why not post the original batch file?

Why not post the original batch file?

Because most people will get confused on how to use it. And with this one you don't need new shortcuts.

Ah, ok.
Unfortunately I do not use Vista.
You might want to post in one of the several related threads and link to this thread.

OK, I fixed the "antivirus" problem. I re-wrote the whole program in Visual C# 2005.
Check the virustotal.com report (http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/e68c987c0352bd8cc05adefdb8207e63b18cb91edbf077d98b a3a73082d57a7a-1243670853).
Please update to version 1.2.

What about people that would like to see the code for maybe using the fix with an alternate game/product and people that want to be 100% sure of what the file does? Virus Scanners and change logs/descriptions of the file without actually providing how the file works isn't very helpful to them.

What it does is very simple: First disables Aero, then starts the game, and when the game is over, enables Aero.
I also added this to the original post.

Yes, but how does it disable Aero, what are the commands used?

Yes, but how does it disable Aero, what are the commands used?

That's the secret!! :P
Just Google it!
net.exe stop uxsms , to stop Aero
net.exe start uxsms , to start Aero

I've tried every sollution i can find, and nothing has worked so far.. Neither did this fix, I still get the same error message.. "Worms world party has stopped working" it's getting me quite frustrated, this game is awesome and my finger's itching to play some!

Levo, is your fix designed to fix this kind of problem?

No. This is to fix the color problem. But let me help you. Did you re-installed the game?

EDIT: Try these steps and tell me if it worked.
1) Uninstall the game
2) Find the Worms World Party Folder and delete it (usually C:\Team 17\Worms World Party\)
3) Install Worms World Party
4) Copy the DATA folder from your CD to the game directory (overwriting the files)
5) Apply the SP1 Patch (optional)
6) Install my Fix

Well the thing is that I don't use a CD to install the game, so there are no files to copy :/ It doesn't help to re-install the game either :S

If you have already bought the game, I believe there is no problem borrowing the CD from a friend, or anything else. Do it and try these steps.

There is a EULA so borrwing would likely break that agreement.

As i said, if only he had bought the game in the past and the CD is now scratched.

The fix has been downloaded 200 times, and there has been only two bad comment, which doesn't really have to do with th fix, but anyway.
I hope you enjoy playing Worms World Party in Windows Vista!

You must start the game with Administrator rights.

It doesn't work with Windows 7. I'd tried everything, but didn't work. Can you make it for W7 too? I think the problem is: In Vista, your program completely uninstalls Aero theme, but in W7, your program just changes color scheme 32-bit to 16-bit. :S

EDIT: In W7, the problem isn't about the Aero theme. I used Windows Basic and Windows Classic (Win98) Theme. It doesn't work. I'm working for Windows 7 solution...

OK. I found a solution and it works everytime. With this solution, the game works without color problems in Windows 7

The Solution:

1-Change the theme to Windows Classic
2-Change colors to 16-bit (High-Colors)

There are two ways, both will work:

3a-Run the game with fix launcher
3b-Right click the wwp_game.exe, go to Compability and check the "Disable creating desktop" or something. (I don't have English Windows sorry :) ) then run!

The next version of W:A will have pallette correction without terminating explorer, or without using any other tools like this colourfix module, etc.

Try this, I don't know if it is working, I cannot test it.

1) Install the fix to the W:A directory
2) Go to this directory and rename wa.exe to wwp_game.exe
3) Now rename wwp.exe to wa.exe

Try and tell me.

I've tried everything but it doesn't work. I cannot make my WWP run on my Vostro 1400 OS Vista. Followed every single step and nothing seems to change. I get all the time the same stupid message "Worms World Party dejó de funcionar" (WWP stopped running) and it closes.

Any idea? Am I doing something wrong?

The only I need are the commands to do these things. I couldn't find them up to now, but I'll serch deeper.

Worms World Party won't work on Intel Integrated chipsets and maybe some others. That's because of lack of driver support.

BTW, you might want to know that CyberShadow made a WormKit module for W:A that suspends explorer.exe (but doesn't kill it). You can use it in WWP if you rename WWP.EXE to WA.EXE and then install WormKit as normal (see the thread entitled wkColourFix in the W:A forum).

Do you mean, there is nothing that I can do?

I manually deleted the Dell obsolete drivers that came pre-installed in the notebook, and then installed the newest ones from the Intel website. So right now I do have the newest drivers for my graphic card.

Please don't say that I can't do anything... :(

I haven't tested the game on any Intel graphics card. If you see this thread (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?p=660965), people say that it won't work. I haven't tested it myself.

The only thing you can do is moan to Intel, or switch to W:A in which I believe the problem is fixed (I still haven't heard properly one way or another though).

Hi,

I've tried everything that was mentioned... and it didn't work.
I'm trying to run it on my wife's laptop ( Vista Home Premium SP1 )

She has an intel chipset, so that could be the problem... :(

I cannot play this game still. It just comes up with the same error message that I always get. I followed all of your steps, but to no avail. I am playing on a laptop if that makes any difference

Any help would be appreciated

System specifications please (model, graphics chipset, video driver, etc) and the error message.

AS TESTERS REPORT, THIS FIX WILL NOT WORK ON VISTA LAPTOPS USING AN INTEL GRAPHICS CHIPSET.

(This may be an answer to the reason that it doesn't work)

I just tested WWP under Windows 7:

1) It worked by just changing the theme to Windows Classic, then colors to 16-bit and starting the game. Please test and report.
2) Version 1.0 of my Vista fix also works, but I don't like removing explorer.exe from memory. You can find it here: http://forum.team17.co.uk/showpost.php?p=660965&postcount=88
3) Suspending explorer.exe works too
