I'm afraid that very old versions will no longer be able to connect to Wormnet1, this is a technical issue due to us changing our ISP.

Please upgrade to the latest version of the beta available from:

v3.6.23.0 is the lowest version that should still be able to connect to WormNET without modifications.

Users with old versions should still be able to connect to WormNET by editing their Graphics\ServerLobby\ServerList.htm file and substituting the old WormNET IP address with the current IP address of wormnet1.team17.com (currently 195.89.193.89).

So finally the TryGames version is completely 100% obsolete.

They can and always could play offline games with the Trymedia version and there was no advantage to online play in said versions either.

Be that as it may, I think strictly it's been obsolete since the first patch came out.

So... WA used hardcoded IP addresses? Is there some reason for that or was it an oversight?

Not hardcoded, but in the serverlist.htm file (which you can obviously modify). I think this was because T17 couldn't be bothered to implement DNS support (which was later implemented and used in 3.6.23.0).

Fair enough... I was thinking that DNS would have meant they wouldn't have had to rely on an ISP so heavily but I suppose they could have just put out a little patch.

Hi. I downgraded to an early beta. What is the current IP address for Wormnet 1, and what is the proper syntax for typing it into the .htm file?

EDIT - I figured it out. It's:
