I have been playing worms since the the first one came out eons ago, although until recently its been a while since I've played any of them. I just recently downloaded the xbox360 version and got back into the groove of worms. However, after picking up a copy of Worms 4 I am left longing to find my copy of Worms 2 or hell even find a way to get Worms 1 on my computer.
There is by no means anything wrong with this game (Worms 4) as its still silly and fun however there seems to be less and less to these games as they get newer and newer. I remember in the old ones a very simple yet in-depth level of fun to the games that seems to be missing in these new ones. I don't care very much for the new 3d one and hope to see another great side scrolling worms like the old days with many of the great and various weapons and levels of customization that came along with them. Wheres the mini-gun? The napalm? The carpet bomb? The petrol bomb? The mortar? The pistol? I haven't seen the Uzi in the new 3d one yet either, not sure if its there.
Not only that, these stages feel very small and it seems like the bazooka barely flies 5 feet before sputtering to the ground. I don't mean to insult or berate this game but am merely providing constructive criticism and feedback for people to think about.

Buy a copy of Worms: Armageddon from here (https://secure.team17.com/) if you are in the UK, or ebay (http://www.ebay.com/) if not (that is, if you don't already have a copy) and install it. Then download and install the latest Beta Update (ftp://ftp.team17.com/pub/t17/patches/pc/WA_update-3.6.29.0_Beta_Installer.exe). W:A has many more features than Worms2, and (with the Beta Updates) even more than Worms World Party. The only things about it that could be seen as "worse" than Worms2 are that the weapons are not as customisable (which may be remedied in a later Beta Update), you can only aim the Ninja Rope in a 90° range (from straight up to straight in the direction the Worm is facing), and a few of the weapons are missing (the Homing Strike, the Homing Cluster, and the Cloned Sheep).

Yeaaah I played Armageddon too(my buddy picked it up after I got him hooked on the 360 version) at one point but still, if I recall correctly Worms 2 had an awesome level of weapon customization where you could greatly change the damage, the blast, the number of clusters or duration of something like the mini gun, and like you said its also missing the added homing weapons and the cloned sheep which isn't the end of the world(get it? Armageddon..sorry had to.) I guess I'm just being too picky but I would love a new side scrolling one with all the features packed into one super worms game. I would totally buy that!

It works flawlessly in DOSBox!
Funny you mention that, I actually have that on my computer however I don't think I have the slightest clue how to use it!

Actually, W:A has a greater level of customisability now if you use an external scheme editor, although not quite as much as W2. Here (http://worms2d.info/Software#Scheme.2Foption_editors) is a list of editors for W:A.

Learn to use DOS then. Aside from one or two mount commands at the beginning which are easy to figure out, it's all the same as in DOS.
