Today, I just got my worms armageddon cd, and when I put it in the drive, all it did was spin, but never opened, not automatically, not manually, not even thru cmd. I checked the cd, no scratches or dust. I am running Vista Home Premium.
Never mind. I finally got it working. Just kept opening and closing the drive. Well, now its official, I have made the move from WWP, to W:A.
try updating your Optical Drive's firmware or use a CD lens cleaner + a dvd lens cleaner in it (if it reads dvd's)

Did you try just navigating to the CD in explorer? Command prompt seems a bit excessive :p

Yeah, i tried explorer, then cmd, but nothing. Odly enough, after opening and closing the drive about ten times, it finally read the disc.
Hence why you should use a CD + DVD lens cleaner like I said above, will most likely lower the number of times you need to insert it to 1.
Quite often simply blowing into the open drive can help if a larger piece of fluff is on the lens.
Try not to spit or, but use compressed air. Otherwise you might make it worse.
whats wrong with compressed air?
whats wrong with compressed air?
I worded that sentence wrong.
I meant to say: "use compressed air in case you spit too much".
