So, my roomies and I broke out the ol' WWP discs recently and decided to start playing LAN games against each other. I tried only once or twice to connect to the online server, but no one was there when I went. I didn't think anyone still played it online.

And, then I saw this board...

Worms World Party is fairly dead online these days, though occasionally there are people there depending on what time you go on. I am always up for a game though. :)

What I would highly suggest though is seeing if you can get yourself a copy of Worms Armageddon, as there are always people playing it, plus it is still being updated, which has made it significantly improved over WWP. These days it should be dirt cheap too. :p

Yeah. My roomie actually had the 3-pack, but he lost the discs to the other games. WWP is the only one I've played and it's the one we play with on our LAN. I'm kinda hesitant to get Armageddon 'cause WWP is, like, my first love. Haha!

I've played a few games today (shoppers) and I thought they were boring.. and quite lame. Why is everyone so obsessed with roping? It's boring watching people rope around for a solid minute, collecting crates.

Does anyone play straight-up normal games anymore or is everyone so obsessed with their roping skills that they don't want to do anything else?

Don't get me wrong, I can rope and I understand how valuable it can be in a game, but doesn't anyone think it takes away from the game itself?

I don't really see myself playing it online if the only games are going to be ropers.

I have to agree with you on that one. I myself prefer regular matches to shoppa and rope race, but almost everyone online likes those. It can be a challenge to find someone who will play a regular match, when you do, try and play as many as possible with that person, because it could take awhile to find another.

Or you could finally switch to WA like everyone else* did. I've been having no problems finding Intermediate games lately and always have people join when I randomly host them in #AG.

* Minor defect of accuracy possible.

Switching to W:A is really the best option here.
The main reason for this is that it is still being updated(albeit a bit slowly :p) but it already boasts some features that make it, in my opinion, superior to WWP.

You can read about some of this features here: http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/info-updatefeatures.php

Let's put it this way. When WWP first came out, it was a bit like a expansion pack to W:A.

But, people decided that they didn't really want to play the expansion pack, and stuck to W:A, making WWP near-enough useless.

And anyway, soon enough the WormPot will be introduced into W:A, that being the only noticeable gameplay change. (apart from colored mines)

So, really, you can either stick with WWP and hope everyone converts back, you can give up and just do nowt, or you can go out there, buy W:A for 20 bob, and have over 12 months of pure, sheer fun.

The choice is yours.

Which is quite ironic, because WA originally started as an expansion pack for W2 but ended up as a stand-alone game when it became too big.
With WWP it basically was the other way round... :)

I disagree. you still find "normal games" in the lobby. You do get quite a few people coming in the anything goes channel. Plus more people are going in the other channels.

Hey People,

I know worms 10 or more years and i love it.

Im playing Offline coz i though online are too many Pro-Gamer.

Im a FAN but casual Worms player.

But i hate the other Worm product like worm 3-D or else.

Worms World Party is the best.

W:A+updates = better simply because it doesn't run with frame skip and ALWAYS detects when spacebar is pressed. WWP and Worms 2 it is like every 2nd frame is missing and space doesn't work during every 2nd frame... if that issue didn't exist I would still be playing Worms 2 :) I like the rope physics, BnG and Roper games/rules played in it.
