Is there any chance of getting a worms game on WiiWare like the one on Xbox Live Arcade?

Considering that the Wii is not renowned for it's online play, which is what made WormsXBLA so popular, I doubt Team17 have any plans to do so right now.

Firstly, Plasma, you're an idiot.

Secondly, there's already a 2D Worms game for the Wii (Worms: A Space Oddity), and I don't think Team17 have any plans to release a second one via WiiWare.

But Worms: A Space Oddity was made for people new to the worms games and is not at all good for the long going worms fan.

Considering how many Wii's have been sold i think its a great idea to release one on WiiWare like the Xbox Live arcades version, online could be set up like how it is on the ds. It would be a big sucess i think knowing how many worms fans are out there with Wii's.

So was Worms on XBLA.

Come to that, so was Worms on the Amiga. When did "a Worms game for fans" start to mean "a remake of Worms Armageddon"?

Not quite a remake. We just expect something more complex than what we are getting. Something that feels like an improvement from previous games. Be it updated physics, more weapons, new game-types.
All we are getting is either a remake of the original worms, or something that seems aimed at retarded kids(W:ASO).

I would personally prefer it if Team17 stopped making Worms games altogether for a couple of years and focused on, say, new stuff. Or revitalizing old stuff. I mean, how long do we have to wait for a new Superfrog game? Really?

Never really been a FAN of Team17. I like Worms, and I want new and good Worms. 2D, 3D, whatever, just give me a new Worms for Wii with online and a considerable amount of weapons which should NOT be themed (as in space).

There are enough other companies creating new franchises around, let Team17 keep working on a new Worms, I'll be patiently waiting.

By the way, I really really loved Worms 4 for the PC. It was incredibly fun, the weapons were great, there were great people online to play with, the game played silky smooth, I really liked the implementation of the rope, and I would love if Worms 5 came as a retail game for the Wii. Just make it run at constant 60 fps, Worms really requires that.

Although, Team17 have some great franchises and games other than Worms.
Best examples would be the Alien Breed Series and Super Frog, the former is already being in production, possible for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Also, their Pinball, Pool and Bowling games are quite good (I'm thinking of a T17 sports pack for the Wii here).

A modernized Body Blows could also be fun (I'm into beat-em-up at the moment), more so if would be released for PC too, as there virtually exist no such games there.

In fact, almost all games that T17 made have been outstanding in their respective genre, with only exception of racing games. :)
Worms Battle Rally could actually kill two birds with one stone there, combining a racing game with the Worms franchise. (A mixture of games like Mario Kart, Re-Volt, Micro Machines and W4M.)
