yes, the gamelist has a scrollbar, and it shows the same game hosted a zillion times down to the bottom, with some other games here and there in between

When in doubt, go with the simple answer. Someone hosted a hojillion games. The fact that they're all called the same thing suggests it was automated. If it wasn't, I feel sorry for whoever was doing it. On second thought, I feel sorry for them even if it was. :p

I guess the best thing that can be done about it is shame the people doing it in a witty fashion that doesn't encourage them to continue. Not always easy, I admit, but with immature folks I'd say that's a better long-term solution than asking Volcadmin to ban them permanently. Not that I'd be against doing the latter, heh.
