Hi all, finally got WWP working on Vista after much reading of this forum and fiddling with compatibility settings. Have to run the game at 640x480, or the screen is totally black. Was wondering - can you zoom in and out of the landscape, like in classic Worms? I know it's a really basic question, but I've forgotten how I used to do it then, and having tried a few ways I can't do it. Would be really useful for better aiming!

[I wish they would make all the old Worms titles available through Steam, got Quake a few days ago, added a few graphics mods, a new engine... bliss.. To be 14 again! But with no spots]

Cheers.

Aha! While it would still be useful to know if you can zoom in and out, I've managed to run the game at max resolution by NOT choosing the compatibility mode "XP SP2"! So now I have a much bigger playing area.

Jebus, it only took about 2 weeks to finally sort this out!

So, to reiterate - in my case Vista colour problems were fixed by:

- going into compatibility settings
- choosing 'disable visual themes'
- choosing 'disable desktop composition'
- choosing 'run this program as administrator'
- doing all of the above in 'show settings for all users'
- exiting (not 'closing') Vista Sidebar
- (maybe helped) exiting Stickies (a desktop 'Post-it' app), which was running 'on top' and in semi-transparent mode

You can't zoom in and out since worms 2, but you can increase the resolution which 1) increases the FOV and makes everything appear smaller too since more is crammed into the same space.

Indeed, zooming is not possible.

It has been suggested though as a new feature for the WA beta updates or later for WA 4.0 respectively.
It probably won't happen until the has been converted to 32bit colours, as working with paletted colours generally worsens everthing.

BTW, if you have a wide-screen monitor which supports 1900*something, you should be able to see the whole terrain of a standard size map in WA.
(IIRC, resolutions higher than the default 1024*768 are not possible in WWP without some 3rd party patches/hacks.)
