Alright, so what's your mp3 player of choice? I prefer foobar2000, but I used to be a diehard WinAmp user for many years. I simply think foobar handles playlists much better than winamp because you can have them as tabs much like a web browser, and I find the media library much better integrated than in winamp.

So, what is it!??!

I use winamp. not because I find it does things better than anything else, but because the skins on it are nice and it doesn't use up too much RAM. oh, and it plays music. that's pretty much all I care about :p

Winamp here too. It works, I've always used it, so I will probably continue to do so until it fails to work.

Amarok was quite good from when I've used that, too. Linux only as far as I'm aware though.

iTunes because it's better than WMP and in order to listen to music on my laptop I need to plug my iPod in anyway.

It has been whipping the llama's ass since 1998 for me (v1.x).

In late 2000 and early 2001 I briefly used it together with Sonique (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonique_%28media_player%29), which I liked because of its transforming 3D skins and better visualization than Winamp had.
It used up a lot of resources though and I abandoned it.

When Winamp 3 was released I only shortly used it. Not because of some removed features and the changed code, but because the playlist loading button didn't pop up on the same spot anymore, which annoyed me as I was used to the double-clicking. Also, v2.x skins didn't work anymore.
I went back to using the 2.x versions, which were still developed parallel.

Funnily enough, I have never used Winamp to play videos. Always stuck with WMP.

I still have winamp installed because you can use it's visualisers in foobar.

Windows Media Player. I always preferred it to Winamp for some reason, and I cannot be bothered to look for something better since it does the job just fine for me.

Windows media player + the latest FFDSHOW tryout, plays everything worth playing :) also, if you store all your music in one spot, WMP sorts it all for you and thus, you can use Windows Explorer to choose what to listen to ;)

Winamp for FLAC (there is no good plugin for WMP that supports this) and various game music files.

Media Player Classic + KMCP.

I used Winamp for a long time until it started getting too slow and a bit bloated. I used WMP on my work laptop for a while but it got too frustrating. So now I just use foobar2000.

I use www.mediaconvert.com for most things. It's free, online, and can convert most things. Doesn't like converting copyrighted MP3s though, it might be the same with m4a (is that what iTunes uses? I can't remember)

Because I was interested in what software people use on their computers. That's why there's an "I don't play music on my computer" option.

I use www.zamzar.com to convert stuff. It can convert anything, e.g. MP3 to WMA, AVI to 3GP, or even AVI to MP3!

The only thing it can't convert is SWF >_>

I mainly use amaroK to listen to music on my amd box (audacious on my pII box). I just like, good overview, connection to mysql database, easy podcast management, quick transfer to my mobile phone and my palm organizer.
As it isn't out for windows yet, I've to use winamp there, quite good also.

FoxyTunes is just a remote-control app for whatevr music program you're already using. It's not a music player in its own right.

I'm still using an ancient compaq keyboard that came with a pentium 2 computer (it had the savage 4 graphics card). Anyway this keyboard only has 8 strange buttons on the top that can't be bound to anything.

But who needs media buttons when you can have global hotkeys?

..pgdown = next song
..pgup = previous song

That's why I linked to the packed release, it only supports up to iTunes 7.0.6.
