View Full Version : Free Team Fortress 2 Weekend!
Best part was one of them complaining that a lot of the new people are just trying to find glitches in the game.
Oh no! People are doing what they are supposed to be doing :(

Ever wanted to turn all that useless crap in your backpack into something useful, but were too lazy to figure out what? Here's your answer! (http://www.tf2crafting.info/)
I wish it would craft the stuff for me too though, because I am not looking forward to this:

And with the new crafting interface that's probably a million clicks. :(

That's not my answer at all. :pWell I assume having a new weapon or even a hat is more useful than 10 backburners, but it could just be me. :p
If you could stack them though... (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/04/25/gunstacking-stack-guns-on-guns-on-guns/)

Betcha he's still wearing his eyepatch under there.

What?
I got those summer shades for free from the Steam Summer Camp Prize Booth.
And yes, they're all wearing their regular eye-wear underneath. Looks especially silly with the engineer and sniper. :p

I was referring to the hat. :p Goes particularly well with the Summer Shades.
Now if only I actually played Demoman...
(also got a Whoopee Cap, Prairie Heel Biters and crafted a Frenchman's Beret)
I found a golden RIFT ticket for redeeming a hat if I entered a code. Fine, I'll sign up for the free beta, might even play it for a few.. what? Choose your subscription plan? **** you Valve.
On the plus side, tf2 is still fun. It hasn't been ruined yet by all the hats. I even think the new f2p players might even be good for the game. (more noobs to kill muhaha)

It's a strange day indeed when more players is bad for a game.

Huh?
Rift is a MMO RPG requiring a paid subscription.
And I haven't seen a single one of such games that have a free trial version that does not require your credit card details in advance.
"We won't charge your card during the trial. But if you forget to unsubscribe, we'll clandestinely take your money."

The Star Trek Online trial never asked for my details until the trial expired.

Yeah, you are right and I wouln't normally expect anything else. I was really just expecting something that didn't require me to pay, like signing up for an annoying newmail and getting some deal which I could ignore. But finding items that unlock other items that I need to pay for is just as useless and rude as randomly getting sent a link to the Man Co. item shop midgame. The golden ticket is just a gift wrapped insult

Actually, this golden ticket was part of the promo for Rift, which also granted you genuine quality items in TF2 when you pre-ordered that game.
So, the promo was primarily aimed at people who already had the game where they could use the goldten ticket code anyway.
And I believe they can't make Steam achievements with condition that apply for certain players, so that's the reason why non-owners of Rift can get the golden ticket too.
You could redeem it and gift the code to someone who has Rift, but don't owns TF2. There's a thread on the Rift Steam forum somewhere.
someone who has Rift, but don't owns TF2
Of course everybody owns TF2 now. Technically.

Technically nobody owns it. The Steam agreement when you "buy" a game makes it very clear you're just paying for the right to play and that you don't actually own anything.
Of course everybody owns TF2 now.
Well, then someone who owns Rift, but doesn't bother to try and get the achievement. Or even install the F2P version of TF2.

What the hell (http://www.teamfortress.com/grordborts/)seriously. what the hell.
Weta had a 'design a raygun' contest a few months ago. Did not expect them to show up in tf2 of all places. So it's goung to turn into a quake3 railgun fest is it?

Actually they're projectile-based (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm7256Ij1nI&feature=player_embedded), which suits the soldier I guess.

I'm not sure I like the idea of a weapon with infinite ammo.
Ugh that weapon looks op. It's like a super flaregun.. which admitedly isn't all that op. The railgun comment is still partially valid I think as the second gun can penetrate multiple objects.

What the hell (http://www.teamfortress.com/grordborts/)"Salsa Pete, remember that time you dug a trench with a shovel? A lot of good men died falling into that trench."
Overpowered weapons or no, at least the Soldier continues to make me grin.

"It's a missile! Quickly, men! One of us should throw ourselves on top of it!"
Yeah I can't get enough of Soldier comics either.

I got the Weta raygun thingy from ComicCon. It's a very slow-moving projectile, difficult to land on a target. I've yet to successfully hit anybody with it.
