the volume slider is at zero... but when i minimize i can hear the sound effects.

None so far. The people at the top know about it, though.

It's known, all right. It happens to me all the time.

turn your speakers way down or off ;) if you use windows vista then you can turn W:A's volume down through vista's program specific volume controls.
