Hi everyone,

Today I installed Worms3D on a freshly formatted Windows XP SP2 system, with all the drivers updated to their latest versions.

The game runs without a hitch, except for an odd sound problem... In game, I can hear the music and environmental effects but not any of the weapon sounds or worms' speech. In the settings section, all the sounds were set to their max.

I subsequintly downloaded Service Patch 2, but it does not solve the problem.

I'm using onboard sound (Intel SigmaTel, or something like that), but I haven't had any problems with other DirectX 9 games.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I have Vista 32-bit. I have issues running WWP on it (crashes all the time) so I thought I would try out one of the newer versions. So far I have just downloaded demos (WFUS and W3D), but I am having the exact same issues with the sound for both demos. I do get glimses of weapon fire and worm speech once in a blue moon, but that's all. Hardly seems right to play worms without the explosions or zany banter!

My sentiments exactly! Haven't yet found any solution and it unfortunately takes the fun out of the game.

Try reinstalling the game itself and all its patches. If that doesn't work, try using head/earphones. If that doesn't work, uh-oh :(
