I know Team 17 has no control over this as they are just slaves to the mighty Sony when it comes to Lemmings, but.... I really want a full blown BluRay disc Lemmings with the theme song from the PSP version, which I like a bit better than the PSN version.

Also, I think the PSN version should have cost MORE, you sold it too cheap. Again, I'm sure, Sony's decision.

I honestly don't know what you could do to Lemmings to make it justify a BluRay release, but I want it anyway, because I'm a Lemming fan. That's why you're the devs and I'm not.

Oh... yay... another "lol developers make X game for Y console plz"

Look, if you really want them to do that, then go complain to publishers, such as THQ Sony (THQ, if you want the same for Worms)! They're the ones that get to choose whether they want to publish a game for a certain console!

Sony in this case, as they own Lemmings rights.

Yes sir... but.... its up to the dev house to make the bloody thing. And they could refuse if they dont think there is interest. I'm just saying there is. That's all!

Anyway, I didn't even know there was Lemmings for the PSN! Is this also developed by Team17?

EDIT: http://www.dream17.co.uk/softography.php?id=90 . Well I'll be.

Indeed it was. And I'm rather suprised that you missed it, really.

Would benefit, exactly, would we get from a Lemmings game released on Bluray?

...
Yes?

I think you made a mistake in that sentence.

No, I just think you're misreading the syntax.

Let me rephrase: "How would a Bluray Lemmings game benefit us?"

Muzer

Nope, you've mistyped it. You said: Would benefit, exactly, would we get from a Lemmings game released on Bluray?

It's supposed to be: What benefit, exactly, would we get from a Lemmings game released on Bluray?

Ah yes, my mistake. Sorry about that! :o

The other amazing thing I am given to wonder is how people think that if a game is on Blu Ray disc, it is inherently better.

Seriously, it's Lemmings. Love it or loathe it, it has five graphic styles. Include the ones from ONML, it has nine. Add some sound effects. You can fit all that on a CD.

Publishing Lemmings on Blu Ray would be great if you wanted to waste a lot of money printing expensive discs that aren't even an eighth full...

Zapzupnz has apparently fallen through a hole in time.

I remember when you could fit that on a single floppy disk.

Actually, the fact is that you can fit any game onto practically any media you like. Code is tiny, sound is small, pictures are big and video is huge. Cut out video, compress images and sounds, and you can fit anything on a CD. But if you give someone 8GB to fill then they'll just increase the texture resolutions until it's full. And that's where those annoying loading bars come from.

Nuh uh! The Amiga version uses two floppies!

Unless the DOS version is different...

The DOS version could fit quite neatly onto a single 1.44MB disk. It cut it very close though.
I still have mine, actually.

Mine was lost in the great floppy-disk-case-falling-down-stairs apocalypse in '97... I lost a couple of good games that day.

I'd love to see a new Lemmings in any format. I loved it since I was a kid, and my Mum is an addict!

Did you snag the PSP/PS2 remake? It's remarkably well-done.

I think she was referring to a new game altogether. While the remake was, as you said, very well done, a lot of us have already played the originals to death.

Although myself, I'd prefer to see a remake of Lemmings2 than an attempt at a new game: if the past games are anything to go by, a new Lemmings game just doesn't work. But Lemmings2, to the best of my knowledge, never had a proper remake like the first of the series did, despite being considered among many the best in the series.

That's true. A version of Lemmings 2: The Tribes would definitely be very welcome on the PS3.

The Tribes, I think, is my most favourite Lemmings game. While a lot of the tools were largely useless and could be done more efficiently by the more basic ones, I loved watching all the funny little animations and different movement styles.

The sandbox/practice mode was awesome. Just get to play around with whatever weird and wacky tools you liked.
