Whatever you're doing, it's good.

It's awesome and I can't stop laughing.
"No, he's K^2. Plus a constant."
Math jokes ftw. Very good.

Paul has supremely thick eyebrows.
Funny.

Paul has supremely thick eyebrows.
Funny.
Which vanish, annoyingly. I may have to fix that.
Paul.Power
12 Dec 2007, 18:34
Wait, doesn't the constant vanish with the final differentiation?
Although admittedly it wouldn't be as funny without the "plus a constant" line.

You have vanishing eyebrows. Get some perspective.

Oh boy, calculus!

So once again, the day is saved, thanks to the Paul.Power!

I almost feel bad. Before I was doing the forum as a whole, now I'm just picking on Paul. Oh well, it's all in good humour.
You know, this fits in the size limit for an avatar.
Edit: Also I fixed the first one in two ways.

I've ended up looking like a Muppet.
Not that I'm complaining.
Great stuff.

You know, I'd originally written the first one in my head for a less obvious latin name, where your knowledge of obscure trivia unmasks the imposter. But this version was funnier.

13 Dec 2007, 00:21
It's funny because it's true.
Our expressions at the end really seal the deal.
But my tail's different and Paul's pencil vanishes.

Where's the cameo guy? The big splat of blood on the wall?

Yeah, that integration still doesn't produce an integration constant. You'd have to put the indefinite integral on the outside.
since when AT ever got related to art?

I do hope so.
I only understand Pi jokes. Mmmmmm.

There's an old joke actually about the lifts in a university maths department.
∞
2π
2e
√17
π
e
√2
0
(naturally, all of these numbers would have to be floored)
That sounds so much like something an engineer would say :p
Nearly. Except for that a true engineer would never ask someone "isn't that right?" unless they were absolutely certain that the other person is completely and utterly incapable of understanding it. If an experienced engineer just said what Andrew said, they'd put themselves in a huge risk of being corrected by a person without adequate engineering experience, which would surely shatter their fragile egos.

I was neglecting the "Is that right" bit - forgot to remove it from the quote :p

What, I thought Faraz was talking about Plasma's little 'isn't that right' post, not about the maths stuff. Possibly I wasn't reading carefully enough.:o
I know maths is important, which is why I'm spending nearly half my week doing it at the moment.
Edit: Thinking about it, Plasma's last post does make a lot more sense now.

Scientist got to the conclusion that that's one of the causes that makes people laugh.
It's all SCIENCE.
