We already have Worms Breakout 2. Do you mean number 3?
I must say that I do love Worms Breakout 2, and if that's another sequel, I'll be very happy.

It's the patch they had planned for ages.

Darky (One of the lead programmers of worms breakout, you probably remember him...) told me I can't just leave this post without giving some information, so here goes.
Melon: as SupSuper wrote, it's not a new game but a new (improved) version for worms breakout 2.
SupSuper: it was so expected that you'll be the one that remember our last news...
Shockdude: it was AT LEAST two years since the first version.
bonz: i'm not Brusi, but one of his friends. Brusi isn't home most of the time (except for weekends, once in 3 weeks, actually).
And now for some additional information...
The first Worms Breakout was the project of Darky, and Brusi helped him. Before Worms Breakout, Brusi created the game King Pong. he created it alone, and that's why he called himself "Brusi Productions" (originally, it was a joke). Later, I joined them (We all learned togather in the same class in school...), and with another "Game Developer" known as Tiger\iCeCuBe, we created King Pong 2 under the name AnyKeySoft. There are two more guys that helped us with King Pong 2 - Rexy, who helped us with the graphics, and Bloke, who helped us with the sounds.
Worms Breakout 2 was another project of "AnyKeySoft". Tiger\iCeCuBe was the only one who didn't help with it (mainly because he is a flash programer and WBO2 isn't flash...). actually, I wasn't very involved in the first version, I just gave Brusi and Darky feedbacks and ideas.... Anyway, some years ago we released the first version of Worms Breakout 2.
we also planned the next version. we published a list of new features, and actually - the new version was almost ready for release. there was one big issue - we wanted to create more levels, and we promised 30. Guess what - none of us ever created them.
Years past since then. We are not school students anymore. Darky and Brusi (and iCeCuBe) are all in the army now, and i'm learning for a BSc.
so AnyKeySoft is pretty much inactive. We wanted to leave the website, but our domain expired, and the only one who could renew it before a stupid bot bought it was Rexy, and we have no idea where he is (Somewhere in the US probably), we don't know (nor care) what he is doing.
Anyway, the new version of Worms Breakout 2 was still existent. some time ago I met Brusi, and we decided that we MUST finish it, somehow.
I tried to find people that will help me to create new levels - but it was hopeless.
Now, the universities here in Israel are striking, which means I have plenty of free time. So I decided to start creating the levels by myself. After creating a decent amount of levels, I posted this post, because I think the new version is very close to being completed, and I know most of you didn't even know we are working on it.
This is going to be a major update to the original game. With loads of new features and bugfixes. We still can't promise anything. but we ARE working on it, so we hope it'll be out soon.
Here is a partial list of things to look out for in the uncoming update:
* Improved graphics
* New bricks
* New Utilities
* New super weapons
* Updates to original bonuses
* A Brand new "Modern World", boasting 30 new levels.
* A new "Combo" system
* The ability to create and share custom levels and worlds.
* Lots of bugfixes
Awesome news!
How about you logon to the IRC channel #worms on gamesurge?
http://worms2d.info/Worms_on_GameSurge
You'll find lots of people from the forum there.
Maybe even someone that could help you.
BTW, how about adding mulptiplayer and network support?
And if you can stuff in more additional features, you could release it as Worms Breakout 3! :D

we can call it worms breakout 3, we can even call it worms breakout 4. but we won't.
we don't have SO MUCH free time right now, so we aren't going to add more things. furthermore, we don't want it to be too much for a small little game...
and i never understood how you can create a multiplayer breakout - it's a single player game! the only way i can think of is to do it worms blast style, and we won't do it for two reasons - first, it means to create the game from the begining. second, worms breakout is not worms blast, and we don't want it to be.

Good point on Blast there. I remember this being compared to it several times. I don't understand your decision on the name, though.
Hmm, Worms Breakout and Worms Blast are two completely different game mechanisms, IMO.
I have played multiplayer breakout clones before.
IIRC, it was called "Brick 2000" or something like that and it supported 4 players on one screen.
The four players' paddles were located on the four edges of the screen and you could bounce the balls all around.
The balls could collide and you could use your paddle to play Pong-style games too.
But anyway, do what you must & can.
I'm looking forward to the combo system and the superweapons!

SupSuper: it was so expected that you'll be the one that remember our last news...:p Well I usually talked to Brusi over MSN when he was still around, nice to know he didn't just vanish off the planet. I hope you guys manage to finish it up this time around. :)
The only multiplayer breakout mechanic I've tried is the turn-based one: only one player plays at once, when you lose a life it switches to the next player. So basically it's 2-4 games handled in sucession, since it keeps track of indivudual players' progress and score.
