View Full Version : Worms Figures (PVC), would you buy them?

I think most of us here would definitely buy worms figures. Stationary PVC figures with no articulation, just painted. They could have bazooka's, grenades, dynamite etc. I think I'm not alone in assuming these would be a big hit, and that most of the people, if not all, on this forum would definitely pick them up. So many other game franchises have done this, and I'd love for Worms to do it as well.

anyone agree/disagree?

I wouldn't.

I might buy a Special Edition Worms game with a figurine included or something, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get a figurine on its own.

Same opinion.

I'd assume the newest version, as in the ones in the beginning videos of WOW2

I would...depending on how hard they are to obtain. If I can buy then at like a major store like wal-mart or a small one near me then for sure.

I probably would buy a set of Worms figures. Ideally I'd love to see all generations represented - the gritty style of the first generation, the rounded cutesy look of the second generation, and the pointy over-the-top Acme style of the 3D generation.

if that's what they look like then I wouldn't buy them. I would want somthing without a stupid stand, somthing that you could actually mess with.

... does it really look that real? I modeled it in 3DS, and thought the result was a bit bad :p

Actually it looks very realistic, but I meant if it were real I wouldn't buy it because of a stand.

Nice job:)

Duke Nukem figures, yes. Worms, no. Unless they somehow make the hands float in zero-g.

There are other ways around that particular problem, ranging from creative model design to using wire.

I'm not sure what is meant by "PVC", but if it means Worms figuirines made out of PVC pipe then hell yes I would buy one.

It does look faker than a $3.6 dollar bill to me. :p
Edit: If you're into 3ds max I would suggest using HDRI based lighting as it produces much more realism with barely any effort. Great for simple renders like this one :p

I'm not exactly INTO it, but I try... You see, I'm studying architecture, so they just teach us the basics :p the rest comes from me.

I tryed to make it as good as I could with the stuff I know. Anyways, I have the spanish version, so I'm not sure I know anything about that HDRI...

Here's some free samples: http://gl.ict.usc.edu/Data/HighResProbes/
And uh... here's a tutorial: http://www.3dkingdom.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=431
It's quite simple, really. :p
Edit: I recall I got so far as to try creating my own light probes, but without a proper camera(was using a cellphone one :p) and a proper reflecting sphere(was using an oversized christmas sphere) my attempts were quite bad. :p
