i know about the method posted everywhere in this forum.. but that wont work for me.
i want to play my worms at college when im bored.. i was hoping i could run it from a USB stick since CDdrives, program installs etc etc are completely blocked.

does anyone know how i can play worms without it looking for a CD or using the emulated CD?

I aint gonna post a No-cD crack, but from my attempts to do the same thing, I have found it successful to run WA from a flash USB disk, and the CD.

No need to install everything (unless the PC is win95OSR2), just copy ur C:\Team17 folder or WA folder to ur usb disk, insert the disk in the CD drive, and run WA.exe

NoCD cracks are usless anyway, they takeaway some of the features of the game, and can result in the game not running at all (friend's experience(

He may know someone with a WA CD, in which case he could easily "prove" he owns something he doesn't by simply taking a photo of their CD with a card with something written on it next to it. And then watermark the image...

Or, he could just borrow someone else's CD, which would then be able to cover pretty much any proofs possible.

You have to emulate windows in the USB stick, easy!

but then how do you run that windows from a PC you dont have full access to?

Solution:
1) Get a Linux distribution that is bootable from an USB stick (one that is small enough to leave enough space for a CD image of WA).
2) Use MEH's tutorial (http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/installguide-original4.php) to run WA in Linux through Wine.

Depends on the machine setup, if they've blocked the CD drives then the only alternative to hard drive boot is to use a USB. So unless they've set the Hard Drives to be the primary boot location there may be a chance.

I mean:
1: He makes an image of the CD and puts it on the USB.
2: He get's a CD-emulating program and installs it on to the USB.
3: He also installs WA onto the USB.

That might work, if you have enough memory on that thing.

In order to run a CD emulating program you have to install it on the machine, you can't install it on the USB and expect it to emulate CD drivers of whatever computer you stick it in. It might be done editing a bunch of files and registries, but then again, if he ain't allowed to install a simple program I doubt he has access to the files.

well it would work to the point before enabling the virtual drives... thats the big thing that requires permission and what not.

to some of the ideas.. i know that its impossible to emulate the CD onto a memory stick.. it needs a sort of patch instead, like worms 2, i played that off a memory stick to test the theory.. works fine but worms 2 is not as awesome as WA :(.

and sorry pplz i have no evidence to give you that i have a CD hehe! every game or software i own on disc that doesnt require CD keys or special security features, i import them onto a portable hard drive and lock it away in my little safe :) i throw all my discs i dont use in at a relatives house.

tbh 1 small little hard drive carrying ****loads of discs and other software is so much more faster/handy/safer ;)

anyway back on topic, is it possible? or is it against the rules? if its against the rules im gona be a sad panda playing worms 2 in college :(

you have to (in most cases) retain ownership of the original product if you wish to use a copy/backup.
