I think it's more noob of team17 not being able to recover the ranks all these years or had it done right the first time to avoid easy exploits, that way, I could still mantain my little three star picture next to my name and get e-pride instead of having to resort to three party programs to feel my e-ego.

They don't.
They're not spending any money and only minimal time on Deadcode's and CyberShadow's efforts.

Although, I bet they have saved quite some money since they have closed the Beergarden section and don't need 17 webmasters for its maintainance anymore. :)
