Dream17 has [thrown down the challenge (http://dream17.co.uk/?id=424)] to anyone who's into programming to develop a version a version of Superfrog for the NES. There are rules, which can be found at the appropriate Dream17 news post, and there is a prize for the first person to successfully put together a NES version of the game.

Anyone who actually accomplishes this can have my cookie.

I can see K^2 winning this a mile away.

But can you see K^2? He seldom posts on even the Dream17 Forum these days, and I hardly see him on Live Messenger. I mean, he does live and work in the US, right? Surely I should be more likely to see him onlien now than when I was in the UK.

A Game Maker 7.0 license, worth $20.-

Seriously now, have you actually followed the bold, underlined & square-bracketed link to the D17 news article?
Sheesh!

The prize might be a copy of Worms Open Warfare 2 for either format, however I'm looking at the possibility of providing something... nicer :)

Could you provide the equivalent cash for that?

I'm not thinking of entering since I don't know the 1st thing about programming for the NES. Just in case anyone who does win it already has the game...

Like I said, that might be the prize. It's not definitely going to be the prize. The prize could be something a bit more substantial.

That program is very good..

It's really great but I use Game Maker 6.1.
If you pay it you can do EVERYKINDA games.

There is free download(It sucks if you got free download) and when you pay to mark overmars you'll get ULTIMATE program.

And it has own forums which help you in the hard places.

Yeah, the prize is not a GameMaker license. For one, I'd like to think that if you can program your own NES game you wouldn't actually need it.

Is there a deadline, because if you really want somebody to win, it'd be impossible with a deadline under these circumstances. Maybe you should settle for an Atari 2800 clone...? (Pacman...)

There's no deadline. It's first come, first prize.
